hhmm I agree with pantera, that helped me alot.. tho i still suck at hair :/ but maybe starting with a darker base color.. then working up, as staci said with a slightly higher opacity with colors, adding highlights, and lowering flow and opacity as the colors get brighter.. other than that it looks nice Davinci :)
davincipoppalag (Feb 26, 2005)
Yea staci's tutorial is great.. Ill keep practicing..
Anna (Feb 26, 2005)
Danny hit it right... Just darken up the base color a little more and there ya have it :-) This is pretty good, pops!
Aubrey (Mar 6, 2005)
Does look really nice Poppa. Hair's always been hard for me.

Eh....sorry I got back to this so late, I just remembered that I was distracted by AIM right as I finished your memo and didn't come back to it^^;.Actually, you did pretty good with the overall picture. If you want me to be really picky, I could point out that you may wanna avoid having the darker shaded hairs in the back from being all consistent in being one black and one gray colors and add some in-between colors too to get a softer look. You could also define the structures too by adding darker shadows in the fur such as around the ears(even just a bit darker).I think you did especially well on it's right paw though :).

Cool kitty!!!
Great pic!!!!!! Very eye catching.

That's weird all right. Looks like we're being eyed by a rainbow-colored elephant. I like that texturey look.
Ty854 (edited Mar 6, 2005)
Actually, my sister drives me, and I usually eat lunch at school. School lunch is NASTY.
Aubrey (Mar 6, 2005)
Looks like a really rainbowy fish maybe.. but has reptiley skin... hmm purdy either way. I dunno how you all do the texturey thing but it's neat.
featherstone (edited Mar 6, 2005)
there's a boot, with an eye in it, that's what I see..... a big eye that's sayin'... put yourself in my shoes baby...and I bet I see that 'cause on the cover of an old National Geographic mag... there was a pic... I about shit myself when I saw it... it was either a star dying or a star being born, I forget.... but it looked EXACTLY like an eye.... if that's not inspiration, I dunno what is... I sat in my bedroom up all night after I saw that, and just wrote and wrote and thought and thought and drew and drew.... it was crazy... but I sure as hell remember it well... I thought stuff like... that's the work of God right there... tryin' to open people's eyes... then I thought stuff like... man.. how DOES He handle it all.... then I thought stuff to Him like... whatever Your will for me is... I'm in this with You.... so use me.... then I thought stuff like.... well, He already does, as He does everyone... if you listen. .... and it just went on and on all night... lol TMI(too much information) >.>

nice pose
emmamommalag (Mar 6, 2005)
I like how the light is shining on her face. Seems like she's looking into the refrigerator for a midnight snack.
Shanghai (Mar 6, 2005)
The light here is pretty cool. Normally I'd say that there's too much focus on the right side and you need to balance it out more, but in this case it works well since I'm left wondering what she's looking at as if I'm about to see it, but I never do. It gives a feeling of wanting to move forward.

Ok... This is a bad drawing but I want to know... Is this glass half empty or half full? The red line is the halfway line. And your drinking lemonaid. Now... for some music! dun, dun, dun, dun.. dun dun dun. dun dun dun dun dun ( this is that one game show where it is very suspensive...Yep)

I would have said it's half full.. so what's the difference, Susey?
featherstone (Mar 6, 2005)
it's better half empty... it makes prettier music when you tap it with a spoon :)
concannon (edited Mar 6, 2005)
First of all, I believe you mean "lemonade", and I assume you mean "suspenseful", rather than suspensive. As the latter isn't a word.

Also, as far as being half full or half empty, it depends. Did it start out with more, and someone drank some? If so, it's half empty. However, if you just finished pouring the lemonade, and haven't drunk any yet, then it's half full. *shrug*
iwonderwhy (Mar 6, 2005)
I agree with VV. It depends on if you just poured some out of the glass, or just poured some in. Poured out=half empty; poured in=half full.

And they look good. I like the value of the edge of the blanket (or whatever their feet are extending from). Looks really good.
davincipoppalag (Mar 5, 2005)
I think it's excellent Sindy! I love this.

it looks cool on just 100% zoomed. That'd make a pretty photoshop brush
Childlike_Vampire (Mar 6, 2005)
You know, this is really pretty, but the zoom is rarely a good idea. I like the dark cool colors of the wings.
emmamommalag (Mar 6, 2005)
Yes, those are very pretty butterflies, Alice. Cool background, too.
