TammyF (Nov 28, 2006)
It's snowing here today and there is a definite nip in the air and that brings to mind colors of red and green!

Christmas is on the way..Pretty one.. like a combination of a wreath and a poinsettia
TammyF (edited Nov 29, 2006)
Thank you davincipoppalaq:~) Pine and poinsettia. That's exactly what was on my mind. I think it's really neat how artists seem to have the ability to read into the pictures and capture what the person who drew the picture is expressing.

Hi Tammy! I wish I could see this more clearly, I think my screen shows images darker than they actually are...

cant do much more......and Im up to my file size limit.... so thats all folks! This is my final version for the competition!

How dp the colours look to you guys? I had to turn the brightness up on my monitor to see some of the other entries better... this may look really pale to you in comparison to what I have done! Thats worrying!

thanks! I know what you mean! Im over the file size so I wont revise!
TammyF (Nov 29, 2006)
I find myself waiting for the curtain to start moving softly with a gentle breeze passing through then I am captured by the figure and her tranquility. I notice the book and wonder what has captured her thoughts. I love the colors, the lines, and the patterns in the draw and her bare feet give a feeling of warmth and comfort. I love the overall effect of this one. Personally, I don't think you need to change a thing.
cmb (Nov 29, 2006)
thank you Tammy! the only revision I was thinking of was possibly birds flying by the window- but they would disturb the tranquility....

great entry- there is a film by this name that I really want to see... must get it out on hire... you have really modelled this well...looks almost 3d
djramz99 (edited Nov 28, 2006)
I have not seen the film, but there is a book that just came out called I am Vermeer. If I understand it right, it is about a guy that was hired by someone to copy Vermeer paintings, so if the Nazis stole them they would be stealing fakes. But apparently he was so good that later they werent sure which were originals and which were copies.
cmb (Nov 28, 2006)
Yes- I heard about that too,,,, it was around the time of the second world war...
Miss_DJ (Dec 2, 2006)
This is really nicely done.

Ah the 1980's when big earrings and even bigger shoulder pads were in fashion. Leather Jackets and cummerbunds.... white ankle socks and stilletos, multi coloured spiked hair and adam ant white stripes... not to mention leopard print leggings cut off just below the knee.. and did we feel strange or out of place? No! Never!

it reminds me of sinead screaming "fire on babylon! fire! fire!"

Hmmm didnt really come out that well.. the glasses are a bit heavy and I should have used a smaller board size to save space... wish there was a crop option to cut it down a bit!
davincipoppalag (Nov 26, 2006)
The light fixture blew up outta nowhere! lol I like the lighting and the facial expression..
cmb (Nov 26, 2006)
see- I knew it didnt look like a flying saucer!
DarkCloak (Nov 26, 2006)
Nice lighting effects on her face. And yes, I thought it was a light fixture at first too. :P A star lit sky would have helped show that it's a ufo :)
