Ref.
I still can't draw hands. Bah.

If I hold my hand like that, my thumb goes past the indexfinger, and my hand actually looks kinda like that. But looking at the ref, her hand looks different.
As for me, I like the colors, only crit I have is that you didn't color up to the bottom.
Sweetcell (Jul 7, 2007)
Nice coloring, I like the combination, but yes the hand is off. Best way to get a good ref, if you have a camera hold your hand out in that position, take a picture, load it and use it. Usually when the hands holding something like that the index sticks out the most, then the others casually follow in a curl. The thumb should only come to the nuckles of the finger and the connection to the palm should be shorter. But still, good pic.

This is nice, I like the simplicity, colour choices and the clean lines. :)
sweet_insanity (Jul 8, 2007)
lol, i have this faved on my devart and have used it for refs in like 3-4 painting.
i like this, especially the colors and how they work together.

This is my first submission and I don't know how well I'll fair D:
Anyway, I'll accept any kind of feedback so be free to shower me with anger or joy
The background is a failed attempt to draw wood but it makes a nice patter though. :3
I duno how to do a painting style yet so i stuck to cell shading. (is that right?)
Oh, if there are any helpful tips...That is also welcomed :D
The coloring doesn't really make sense but this is my first time so I'll improve. :D

not bad at all for a first submission :-) welcome!
clover_pocky (Jul 4, 2007)
This is really pretty. :) Once you get used to the applet of Lascaux (I hated it at first, but it really is great once it's figured out) - try a smoother colouring style, obviously you have a good grip on the techniques of drawing.

Welcome to 2draw. :D Hope to see more from you, I do love the colour combinations in this. <33
Sweetcell (Jul 4, 2007)
Nice job for a first. You seem to know how to use Oekaki well, and yes Lascaux is the shizzle, it's spoiled me too much to try Shi. Nice lineart and great coloring. I love the highlights in her hair and on her shirt. Welcome aboard Kukomi.
mooki (Jul 5, 2007)

welcome to 2draw kaki

Wow Kloxboy, you made one of my nightmares come back to me in an instant. One day I dreamt I was at some strange High School. What the kids did for fun was climb up the tallest High School Building, and jump off and splatter to pieces when they hit the ground. Great draw!
davincipoppalag (Jun 17, 2007)
That's usin' ya head. Terrific splatter action.
clover_pocky (Jun 18, 2007)
Klox... this is how I felt in high school. Every day.

^_^ Brilliant, I just love the juxtaposition between the red and the blue. <3

Sketcher_V (Jun 17, 2007)
this is so nice and there is such a strong atmosphere to it, you really are good
clover_pocky (Jun 18, 2007)
Thank you. The original is... not so great :\ There's some flaws in this now that I look back on it.

who´s ed ?
Kayos (edited Jul 16, 2007)
Ikari its an inside joke for a name of this creature. Normaly I come up with strange demonic names.. and this creature I never made a name for so with my freinds and I talking about it one day.. someone joked about the name of Ed. It stuck and there ya go!

Now that you mention it, it is an A.
Sweetcell (Jun 6, 2007)
A is for Arched neck. :)

Now do B.
enjoydotcom (Jun 7, 2007)
Hmm, arched neck, I thought A is for Aviation animal :D Bit silly since she has very small wings.
Sweetcell (Jun 7, 2007)
Aviation is good, why didn't I think of aviation.

PS (Jun 5, 2007)
It kind of looks like an indian rock painting coming alive, very nice work.
Dr.Moony (Jun 5, 2007)
Playing with shapes is the best way to clear my head too. The thin lines add a lot of interesting structure to this painting which looks even better than I thought judging by it's thumbnail....Great job!
solve (Jun 5, 2007)
Wow you have some crazy textures going on in here. From the smoke, wispy thick lines, thin scratchy lines. Oh, and the colors. Great work!
Roytje (Jun 5, 2007)
Thanks alot! I didn't expect so much comments on this one :)

I look at this and think of a Pheonix rising from the flames. I know it's cliche but I can actually see it in the streams of flames. I just love how you make your paint strokes look thick and substantial. Did that make sense? :)
HunterKiller_ (Jun 5, 2007)
I like solve's interpretation. Intense rolling hot oil. =)
two-na (Jun 6, 2007)
perfect. lots going on, and still very nice
good, this, kloxboy
patienceisoverrated (Jun 6, 2007)
mmm i love the flow and movement. when i was little(er) I used to spend hours dropping food colouring in water and watching the patterns of the die swirling around. this reminds me of that.
