I like how you colored it. Neat looking robot.

oooo... green... purdy...
Gigandas (Aug 16, 2004)
Geez, did you branch this guy out of Spark Mandrill from Megaman X???The gold shoulder plates and the hunch reminded me of him^^;.Even if that's the case, nice job with all the details.I wouldn't even know where to start drawing a robot^^;.I gotta say I like the smoke coming off his blown off left arm too.
Zack (Sep 30, 2004)
Thanks everyone! Nah Gig, the similarity hadn't even occured to me. That happens though... I just kind of mix and match different forms in my head until I have a concept that I think will look cool, and a lot of times I haven't mixed stuff up as much as I think I have, kind of like how Robot No. 2 ended up looking like Samus. Of course, you draw a certain kind of thing enough times and you'll have coincidences like that. I'll have to try breaking out of my usual design concepts for the next robot.

I like this guy because he doesn't complain about having his pictures deleted, or moved, or that nobody likes him, or other such stupid and selfish things. He's just... such a trooper! He has the heart of a champion!

I would love to see Robot Week. :]
No prob Jack, I'll get started on one today.
Hey! Clox! Stop deflating my satire!
davincipoppalag (Aug 3, 2004)
Robot week! Yay!
Ty854 (edited Aug 4, 2004)
He reminds me a lot of "Lil Brudder" the one-legged puppy. The hat is hilarious!
Knockoff (Aug 4, 2004)
hahaha, I'll try to put in a robo soon, zack. I love his expression, its different, because you don't usually see robots that happy. I like the "Oh well!" Haha

He's not a bad bot. He's just misunderstood.

he looks pissed. nice work.
Zack (Jul 29, 2004)
Ty: Hehe, the star could go either way. If he was red with a gold star, he'd be a communist bot. ;)
Dino: I'm obsessive about my lines. The timers for this and my other robot pics are accurate. The clown was a spontaneous thing that turned out better than I expected.
Ty854 (edited Aug 2, 2004)
evil commy bot?
Knockoff (Aug 4, 2004)
Woaw, The shading is very simple, but I think it looks great.

Very nice....You have tremendous talent. This would make a great series of boards.
You know...after browsing through so many artists on here....I think it would be fun to have a comic with each panel done by a different person on here. Creativity tag. Each artist does a panel, then picks the next one to do it....or else the moderators do...lol.....the trepidation of seeing memos waiting....wondering if you've been chosen for the next panel....Dont know if theres a suggeston box...but I'm going to look.
KiwiKitsune (Jul 18, 2004)
Woah! Woah, woah, woah! :D I LOVE the lineart on this! It's absolutely freaking amazing!! >> You gotta teach us all how to do stuff like that... *sighs*
Zack (edited Jul 18, 2004)
Believe it or not, the timer for this is pretty much accurate. I spent versions 5 and 9 doing nothing but cleaning up the lines. That's about 4 hours. For the antialiasing in version 9, all I did was crank up the music, zoom in to 300% or 400%, and set brush/eraser opacity to one-third.

Jack: The closest thing we have to a suggestion box is Marcello's inbox. It wouldn't hurt to post your idea in the forums too, so you could rally support. It sounds like a cool idea to me. Also, I like series because they give me certain limitations to work with... if you ever get stuck on what to do next, you just pick one of your series and continue it, y'know?

Ty: That one probably would have worked out pretty cool, but I didn't want this guy to look evil, so I decided against it.
Ty854 (Jul 19, 2004)
alrighty. you should do an evil one tho too. that'd be pretty cool.

inspired by a song I wrote a long time ago. warning: not for the faint of ear.

edit: BTW, all those typos are intentional. Though subtle, there is a difference between being an idiot and having a geeky sense of humor.
edit: just joking around in the animation, don't take it seriously

awesome, are those little pixel guys from the aqua teen hunger force? that cartoon is excellent and really strange in a good way
Zack (Jun 9, 2004)
a winner is you, misterjimsan! you are collect, the pixel guys are from the infamous Adult Swim cartoon.
btw, I might use the animation features to make a... well, animation, some time in the near future... should be amusing
Ty854 (edited Jul 24, 2004)
Mooninites! U should make them into a sprite.
JackSprat (Jul 25, 2004)
I love this one, Zack! Totally looks like a scene from one of those pulp sci-fi stories, but with a better robot!

The MQ4 Mosquito, weighing in at a mere 35 tons, is expected to become a House Steiner standby. Although lightly armed and armored, the MQ4 is both agile and inexpensive. The 3U variant is intended primarily for peacekeeping operations in an urban environment, being equipped only with 4 MLAS and a heavy machine gun. (Scene and mech are original designs.)

well he is a sprite god :)
Zack (edited Apr 30, 2004)
Raised in the school of pixel-by-pixel, I was I was. Yeah, I considered putting a traffic light in, but I thought that the wire or bar would get in the way of seeing the mech (not to mention make it more difficult for it to walk around), so we'll just assume that in the future cars have traffic directions built in. Which is cool anyway.
davincipoppalag (Apr 30, 2004)
This finished up great. The details are amazing.. Well done
