very nice Laura, this has just the right fade to the background so that your bird stands out. So glad you are getting the hang of the layers and how to use them, I know how you feel once you get used to them, you never want to go back! really nice work! three cheers from me!
QTgillie (Mar 28, 2008)
Thanks so much Starz for comments, your opinion always welcome!

Anyone considering quitting? It is a good thing!

yes, I'm struggling with the nicotine monster. Tried to quit many times - sometimes stopping for long periods. I know I can when I really try, I must not want to quit badly enough at the moment. That's a sobering thought to see in print . . .
Great draw - reminds me of the old ads that got me started in the first place - looks so elegant and sophisticated.
Aakyra (Mar 28, 2008)
Hey QT! What an excellent peice of art! Very impressive!
enjoydotcom (Mar 28, 2008)
Never started smoking, so quitting isn't an option I have to consider :D. Cool smoke-plume.
elly (Mar 29, 2008)
WTG QT for posting this draw....Good for you!!! I'm sure a huge subject many can relate to!
If you're just starting out smoking as a teen, yeah, it's easy to quit now but wait 10 yrs or more and it's near impossible! I'm convinced "someone" has added "something" more to cigerettes that make them more addicting....
STARZ, I think I've heard of the med's you're talking about. My Dr has told me about them as an option (I'm still thinking about it). I think they run about $3 a dose. The plus side to it is you don't have to quit cold turkey, you just gradually like smoking less and less. I feel "my time to quit" is getting close...ugh. You'd think after 3 bouts of Pneumonia and several Bronchial infections this past winter that I'd either be dead, or quitting by now!!!! It would be truly amazing if I ever do quit that's for sure! My problem is that I enjoy it SO much I don't want to quit!!! (That's the "addicting additive" speaking). When I think about quitting, I smoke more....
My fav part of your draw, QT is actually the cigerette. Not because I smoke them either....LOL. Great job on the highlighting, shadow, and reflected light along the back side. The "cherry" and smoke are well done too! **applauds, bows to QT, scurries off to smoke...**

haha, good that needles dont bother you, youll be a good donor
Sweetcell (Mar 28, 2008)
For some reason this sounds like a title of a song. I can hear an imperceptible tune with this title name.

Needles don't bother me. Fact (and I can see people cringing when reading this) I like watching as the tube fills up with blood. It's a morbid fascination to me. Must be part vampire, that explains my staying up so late and being so sensitive to the sun. 8}
mooki (Mar 28, 2008)
haha, its not the needles that are so bothersome
i dont like the vein aspect...eeyeh.. i mean i can peirce anything without a thought but show me a vein and ill puke.

sweetcell, i think your so sensitive to the sun becuase you stay up so late.
you stay up so late becuase your addicted to the internet.

Excellent job. I love all the different textures.
Xina54 (Mar 26, 2008)
Hey Starz - the sheen on the gold satin is just TOO real! the fringing, the bell, the embroidery on the face - all amazing.
KuteDymples (Mar 28, 2008)
Terry......I can't believe I missed commenting on this. I have looked at it so many times and I guess I was so engrossed in all of the detailing I thought I had commented. I love the whole draw, but my favorite part about it is the one piece of cording that comes down from the bell. I can't quit staring at it. It looks like you could reach right out and take it from the picture, seeing the side of it and the perfect details you have put into it. Wow! Masterpiece is quite the understatement for this. Mardi gras memorabilia has always taken me aback, and this would be a perfect addtion to all that I already have.

Oh thats just lovely Lori. I love fieflies (specially the show)

Btw, are you getting a different looking configuration for the site?
Xina54 (Mar 27, 2008)
peaceful and enticing. Unusual colours - but they look so natural here. I love the sheen you have on the water - looks like silk . . .
lori (Mar 27, 2008)
yes I am Sweet... and thank you all
QTgillie (Mar 28, 2008)
so very very pretty. i miss the sunsets. when we lived on the lake our main focus of the lake view was facing directly west. we would get the most amazing sunsets. sometimes the moon would shine off of the lake so brightly and shine in our bedroom window and it would awake me in the middle of the night.
