This is fine for begginers but not quite intermediate. It's always best to learn and perfect the use of the appelets before working your way to inter or advanced. If your unsure please the rules. Welcome.
MonicaB (Mar 16, 2008)
i dont think i asked for your opinion....i dont think it matters where you think it should be in the ranks..... its art...isnt that what we are all here for? to express ourselves through art...and for your information i have been drawing on these kind of programs for a while this was just a quick throw down
KuteDymples (Mar 16, 2008)
I really like the darkness you added to the sky and the stars. This is really pretty.
Skrog (Mar 17, 2008)
neat pic, i'm lovin the cool colors and the movement.

No need to be offended though, I can understand sweet's suggestion to try submitting a few things to beginner before moving on to intermediate. She's not tryging to be mean and neither am I; just giving an honest suggestion.

Looks cool though. Keep uploading things, your work looks interesting.

This "emo" argument bullshit is pretty gh3y.
Listen to City of Caterpillar, A Day in Black & White, Pg.99, Hoover, Rites of Spring, Books Lie, Moss Icon, Fugazi, and Transistor Transistor, then try to tell me they all sound like MCR .
And most members of actual emo bands have short hair, wear t-shirts and regular or loose-fit jeans.
Not only that, but emo's a subgenre of hardcore punk that tends to integrate elements of post-rock (in the most contemporary forms, at least) that originated after the "revolution summer" of D.C. hardcore with bands like Rites of Spring, Beefeater, and Embrace, which is now leaning more into screamo-esque emo, save a few more traditional acts like Fugazi.
For those who'd actually care to look into some real emo, I'd highly recommend Rites of Spring, seeing as it's the most common among neophytes to the genre, and my personal favorites, Pg.99, a Day in Black & White, and City of Caterpillar, the latter two more vividly expressing the contemporary's post-rock roots.
I know, being a super genre l33ts musicfag elitist who is a fan of the subgenre and of all hardcore punk. Oh, and I've never been to 4chan, outside of /mu/

Long live the confederisah!
kongo (edited Apr 6, 2008)
wait... what the hell does that actually mean?

and anyway I only drew because i was bored and they're my favorite band so can everybody just shut up I mean does any of this crap actually matter?

It's only a picture so shut up with your big fancy words correcting my grammar and that It's just a picture this is a site for drawing not for discussing what you have to say about the band!

um and can I say something about his whole urban dictionary: Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.<yer that and all I can say is I'm offended

Gel, this is so soft and subtle. I can remember plenty of times when we lived on the lake and the calmness of the water is so soothing. Lovely drawing.
Meno (Mar 16, 2008)
Shimmery, glimmery .... soft and lovely.
STARZSHINE (Mar 19, 2008)
now that is where I want to be, in a hammock between two palms sipping my mai-tai, with a little umbrella and a straw in it, with the hammock swaying in some warm breezes blowing gently off the water...mmmm relaxation! boy do I need that! very pretty pic gel-o
Xina54 (Mar 22, 2008)
Hi gel-o. Lovely, beautiful blues - but the whole drawing seems a little blurred - as if the focus is too soft . . .

Nice gown, the bg is a distraction, I think a softer bg of pale colors would look better to show off the gown.
I want her handbag. May I have it?
QTgillie (Mar 16, 2008)
this is nicely done. I like the bg as it emits a sense of the magic that is being transposed on Cinder. Bravo!
STARZSHINE (Mar 20, 2008)
this is adorable glo! she is so pretty, reminds me of cinderella a bit. I like the background, but if you don't mind a suggestion...what would really set it off would be to take the background colors in the lights and have them highlighting on the gown and the lady, just a hint here and there to equalize the foreground with the background. very well done!

Thanks so much Sweetcell ^__^ I'm really speechless, there's just so much talent around here!

By the way, am I allowed to tweak it a little as time goes on? There's a couple places I still don't like and would like to maybe continue working on.
davincipoppalag (Mar 17, 2008)
Congrats on the win
enjoydotcom (Mar 17, 2008)
GJ on the win Marfin, I think you are allowed to tweak it as much as you like. It's your own drawing and you have plenty of space left to do so.
Hmm, very certain you are allowed, but I could also see why it might not be 'allowed'.
Sweetcell (Mar 18, 2008)
Well, as for that if you tweak this picture now people won't see what the final product was that won it.
What I suggest (and you don't have to do this) is draw it again and work longer on that one. Though this is fine as is.

Incredible work! It's so shiny too. I'm jealous 'cause I still can't do metallic objects. Way to go!
