I've been doing a lot of work for my classes lately, and just today I had a final critique for a project I had a lot of fun with, so I thought I'd share it with you. EEEEEEEEEEEEE I drew a bubble!!! It is really hard to draw something that is mostly nothing...I used no reference, I did however spend about 20 minutes looking a different bubbles to get the basic idea down. Definately has room for improvement but I am proud of it. The timer is off but I did spend at least 30 minutes on it.

In all this. I was simply saying that Kraisa did a wonderful job drawing this from her memory reference and that I can't do it without looking at a physical reference. As Zack said, its all semantics, really, I was just making an observation and in no way did I intend to disparage this wonderful piece ((Kraisa))

LOL I never came back to see what happened after my last comment on this. It seems I sparked quite a debate! I appreciate the kudos for my picture. I understand the different points of view. I had never seen someone told that a picture was ref. when the atist mentioned that it wasn't I guess that is why I was insulted. That and I was feeling particularlly moody that day.(I can see how it was most likely merely a way to play on words and their meanings) Really really no hard feelings held towards any of you! Though it was nice to see people talking without coming up with crap like "yeah well your mom!" Each comment seems to be a well thought out statement of opinions! It was actually refreshing.

RP: you're not far off the mark from my intention; as can be seen, each mech has 2 small guns on the body (the distant one being obscured for the first two) and 2 of what I call "weapons pods," which would be interchangeable with each other (except for right/left orientation). The large gun and 6-missile launcher on the middle mech could be swapped with the weapons on the other mechs, for example. Also, each mech's torso would be capable of rotating over the base of the legs.HK: yeah, Marcello preferred the other two as well. Strangely, I like the middle one most, but not by a wide margin. Kabomb: Power Rangers? Good lord, no. :P Transformers is a stretch; the strongest distinct influence on these designs was probably Battletech. (w/ mechs such as the Uller/Kit-Fox and Shadowcat) Walter: I'll probably draw more with humanoid legs. I used the same legs between them because legs are the hardest part to animate (which is pertinent to the reason I drew these in the first place). Prowler lives again? satsu: thanks!

This is very pretty, but pixel by pixel work is pretty pointless because it's totally unoriginal and pointless. It's just like copying a picture and pasting it.You did a good job on copying it, though

"Unoriginal"? I don't think she copied a picture completely, I think she meant she used it for, you know, like, hair reference, face reference, pose reference, things like that. I s'pose it doesn't matter either way, though, I mean, it looks amazing either way! Great job, Cherry. I could never have enough patience for one o' these.

Pixel by pixel work can be original.. it's not liek EVERY pixel-by-pixel work on here was copied from someone else...She coudl use a tad mroe shading in the hair.. and err *hands blanket* better get someone to fix them buttons on her shirt XD Nice work though, good job on keeping the pattern on the dress believable.

Look at the beautiful tear on this scrap of paper! Incidentally, did you know "tear" (to tear paper) is spelled the same as "tear" (a drop of salty fluid that comes from the eye).
