I'm making this big project that'll be shockwaved with 9-11 different images and things to click on and parts that'll be animated. It pretty much has to be done in two weeks for a deadline. That's right. You thought it wouldn't happen. Hell, I thought it wouldn't happen. A new version of Lascaux Sketch is finally out! Version 0.70 was released a few days ago with an all new antialias system for really smooth brushes. Version 0.71 goes on to fix some bugs such as not being able to use selections when revising, and potentially fixes the 'brush stops working' problem. Though no guarantees on the last one, that's an elusive nemesis. Will there be more? Who knows. En...

Figured it's time I made the transition to digital art. This is my first attempt ... I think I'm starting to get the hang of this tablet.

from a distance it looked like the thumb was a bald man staring at me. I like making digital art over things like paintings because of less time needed to make something and more flexability with working and reworking an area without ever running out of materials or wearing through the paper, etc.

Very nice grayscale drawing but the things edge is kinda flat its like a frown shaped edge urs is like [ more than ( but otherwise i'd believe that was a real hand

Rick, Great first shot at a drawing! You snuck this in without telling me. I think recognise that thumb...Try starting out with a grey background (you can set that in the bottom layer, or work right on top of it). You can add white for highlights, and it helps to 'see' better. (pure white rarely exsists in reality). So, you got a tablet? |

Which i am...but that's beside the point.All i was trying to say was that maybe you should spend some more time on your pictures and actually try to improve your proportions. If you know whats wrong with it, try and fix it, dont just ignore it and the people seeing it too. 11 minutes on a picture is not long enough to begin to improve. It may seem like a long time when you are actually in the applet, but if you only spend said amount on time on something, there's going to be things wrong with it, and we arent afraid to point them out.

the soft lines are impressive when the subject matter is usually so hard and metallic. i would love to know how you go about painting something so soft. the background is just as intriguing as the subject. |
