I think that you could do it if you spent a little bit of time into it. The only reason that your anime is any better is that you have just copied it so much that now maybe you come up with your own things (but it mostly all looks alike to me).

I almost died.. it was a nightmare there... Everyone was screaming and cheerleaders look like robots that are mumbling stupid words. The hat? Well of course, it was hat day, and I was being weird, and wore a joker hat. o_o --Timer's off a bit.

haha... i rememeber pep rally, all the people running and be peppy. i was annoying the hell outta my freinds... them sitting there about to die, me acting like an ass... yes... those were fun times... laughing at the football players and cheerleaders fall... yeah... that was the highlight of my day... maybe they shouldnt be tieing each other up... hm... ill tie them up for them... that'd be fun... now i'm talking to myself... yes.. so... uh... nice drawing, i like it... reminds me of old times.... way to go!

I saw your other eye drawing too and Icats has given you some great advice that I can see has improved your skill quite a bit in realism here.I agree with Zack's comment about the eyebrow, making it look more natural would help enhance the overall look to this.I dunno exactly if you wanted to do anything more to the skin around the eye, but it you were to make the entire picture look real, you should be able to make out the small bag of skin under the eye as well as some more highlights on the skin, whether it be the refletion of the oil on the skin or just the brightness from the source of light.I have to say that tear duct is pretty damn amazing though.If you also wanna bring more life to the eye, adding specks of bright reflection into the iris would do just that.Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Gig! This time, I wasn't really concerned about the skin around her eye... mainly because the ref mostly had one color for the skin. The lady didn't have bags! hah. Made my work easier. Anyhow.. I'll pick a better ref so I can concentrate on that stuff you mentioned. I think I just liked it because of the makeup. :-P

^_^ You are doing the lines on a layer above the sketch, right? And then you do the coloring the layer under that, and finally, the last layer is the bg. You can add, delete, and switch layers, too.
