Thnx,.. but u notice i have difficulties with the fading.. i just checked tips n trix and it said sumtin bout flow, diffusion and spacing.. think thatll help.. Good to c u around here aswell!
cmb (Jan 5, 2007)
if you use the different applets- lascaux , okaki... (spellings wrong probably!) you get different tools- if you use the sliders towards the bottom of the page and go down from 255 you get the colours to fade and end up with a more blended effect- also on the okaki one- if you choose watercolour instead of solid at the top and use the grey slider at the bottom you can adjust the opacity.. hope that makes sense? Will post this to your other draw too....
Naima (Jan 6, 2007)
Already a big difference - looking good!

An idea I've had bouncing around my head for a few months. Originally, I had planned it as a bat and a giant flea in a bar, but a mosquito and flea holding hands (legs? Hooked claws?) works much better to me. It's all fixed now, and I really like how it turned out.

I think the flea would have to be male, since it's only the female mosquitos who drink blood. But I'm not really sure. I know I drew it, but I have no idea in hell lol. Thanks for all the kind words :)

I might go back and change this later... I tried to make the platypus as realistic as possible, after seeing some of the photograph-like work on this site, and I think it turned out alright. However, I'm largely dissatisfied with the balloons, and might completely redo them sometime.

Really cool character.
Kayos (Jan 10, 2007)
this handsom prince will have some troubles getting dates to the prom. poor guy. BUT he looks as if he could lead an army of cyborgs to take over the planet as easy as tieing your shoes. awsome job!

That's great, diggin the gradient. Hope you do more like this.
Naima (Dec 30, 2006)
Thanks, Kloxboy :). I certainly will, I'm a pattern junky... I can't draw realistic people/things to save my life, so I'll stick to what I know for a while :P~. Hope to learn a lot from browsing around this site - holy poop, can't believe the things so many of you guys have produced here!
Punky (Dec 31, 2006)
:O
Looks super swanky. I'd like this pattern on like, a lamp or something.
Naima (Dec 31, 2006)
Thanks, Punky :-D. It makes me think of those old abstract patterns they used to put on trapper keepers, too ;).

Doh! Will have to try something else, then...
Kloxboy (edited Dec 30, 2006)
It's amazing how much work like this goes for, the originals I mean. This piece is selling for over a quarter million: Victor Vasarely painting And that's a low-ball price.

And it's interesting how in your piece, the thumbnail shows 4 squares and forms a cross. oO
Naima (edited Dec 30, 2006)
Yowzer! That is amazing - is the price so high because he is a well known artist? I'll have to go look into that... *jaw still hanging open*

Hadn't noticed that about the thumbnail - funny :)
