beautiful, warm, thought-provoking tenderness, innocence, sweetness...wonderfulness!
gel_o (Mar 21, 2008)
Wow, this is amazing!!
enjoydotcom (Mar 22, 2008)
After seeing the ref, I have to say I like your drawing better than the photo. There is something funny going one with the eyes, yours look more natural and believable.
Meno (Mar 24, 2008)
ZOMG ... the eyes have it! Just gorgeous.

another refugee! they look scrumptious jp - either of them would have been a better breakfast than the chocolate egg I've just wolfed down . . .
They look so crunchy and the water droplets are amazing.
Mb101097 (Mar 27, 2008)
I just want to grab in, and eat it! Good job! :)

STARZSHINE (Mar 20, 2008)
wow david, totally missed this one with you posting on beginner. what a quaint teeny little lighthouse and a teeny tiny ship! very nice amazing the details for so small, I bet you build ships in a bottle don't you...kind of reminds me of that. very nice!
davincipoppalag (Mar 21, 2008)
I was just killin time, but I do like small detailed stuff. I have made a few ships in bottles, but mostly I've done miniature models like this one http://davincipoppalag.deviantart.com/art/Clipper-Model-37501308 I carve the hull and make the spars from shaved down toothpicks and whatever else I can find for the sails etc.

edit: the thumbnail looks 10x better, eh?

Contest Week 74: Texture!
Shanghai (edited Apr 3, 2008)
Contest Week 74: Texture! closed for judging In this contest you'll be using the tools available to you to mimic real-life textures and combining them onto unexpected surfaces. Think of it as a contest with a focus on technical skill, but also on originality with what textures you decide to put on what objects. Some examples of unexpected textures would be- A vase with with a texture of water sitting on a table with a texture of leather, or a cloud with a texture of brick above a mount...

This is my first time using the Okshi program. It is hard to get used to from the other one but I think I did an ok painting. Please feel free to comment. Right now I see I need to fix the spout a little.
