This one looks like a face formed from parts of the wall it's starting to appear from. YOu have such a cool way of shading these.
HunterKiller_ (Nov 8, 2006)
Oooo... Something a little different. It's sort of cubism-ish, yes?
Sweetcell (Nov 9, 2006)
Hunter's right. So we can call this your Cubist era? :)

I think some of what DBA had to say (to both of us) wasn't completely off base but sometimes I think her intentions are not* all that positive and her criticisms are not so constructive. I'm not exactly a saint either but that's pretty obvious. ;)

Haha, that's funny. I love that you put him in the background, small, just doing his thing...whatever that may be.

He's building an artificial fire hydrant and is going to spread tacks in the grass around it hoping to catch a dog or two He's not very nice

Poor guy has been waitin an hour for his fries....now he's pissed...
Sweetcell (Nov 9, 2006)
Very tweaked out looking Wolverine. I hadn't even noticed at first that he had a small body, I thought it was just part of his upper body showing. S'funny and good. You and Clox have a very unique style. Like you see pictures in your mind as molded clay. Ok does that make sense?
DMV (Nov 9, 2006)
Thanks again People for da comments...Sweetcell I understand what your trying to say and Thanks :)

Ahhhh... I expected such a "cop out" (sorry little brothers, it applies... hah) My little black dress won't fit me then, anyway. sigh. :(
davincipoppalag (Nov 9, 2006)
Clox never cops out.. he draws a demon!
Sweetcell (Nov 9, 2006)
So if Gollum actually lived and grew old is this how he would look? He's so sad, really I feel sympathy when I look at him. So amazingly well painted as always Clox.

did you try the planet of the apes (remake by elfman) soundtrack? Also very cool. :}

Wooh. This strikes me everytime I scroll over it.
It's one of those hopeless overreacted smiley faces.

Your home gets destroyed by an enormous explosion but you think one fat smile can save it all ^^

Thanks everyone, it was actually suppose to be a caricature of Nancy Pelosi, but maybe subconsciously I was thinking of Jerri Blank from Strangers with Candy. Ouf, either their resemblance is uncanny or I’m just going to have to work doubly hard on my next caricature. haha! Thanks again. :)

I agree with Davinci-you got this nailed.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Nov 7, 2006)
Yeah, reduce the size of the mouth a little, add blonde hair... there I am. Oh, and a little heroin addict-like mascara smears under the eyes to accentuate the already dark circles naturally there. My brothers and I used to "compete" at who could stay up the longest... they had their guitars and I would paint... I usually won, unfortunately I still win. As cops, sometimes when they change to night shifts they come over and say, hey sister, you gotta keep me awake tonight, I'm changing schedules tomorrow. Now they are sleeping and I only sleep when it's drug induced. That is when I don't sleep walk through the drugs and get into trouble before I find the bed.

Yeah, the JOYS of INSOMNIA. Yeee motherf!@#$haw.

I have read from more than one source that this is a most common ailment among artists. We tend to suffer from it more than others.

DBA: Yeah, but I'm a tax attorney, I guess that makes me a freak.

Nice, it's experimental and different. I like how you try different styles, I think it's the only way to really grow as an artist.
Dr.Snoopy (edited Nov 7, 2006)
Thanks! Although that you risk to make something that doesn't "look good", there is also a high risk to learn something new and get inspiration for further work.
In my eyes it's all about skill and making mistakes.
When I paint, then I try do implement some elements that I already mastered (being able to do them intentionally), and as I paint there occur some unintended mistakes. Some of them look interesting and others do not.
So I try to follow those new elements and try to understand what makes them so interesting. And if I don't make mistakes, I force them to happen by drawing intentionally not correct.
It is a lot of fun, but you should not try to many different things at once. Keep it simple and try to put some time into this new thing.

Making too many mistakes at once (well, you/me already do infinite unintended movements at any moment) makes your work seem pretty random.
And this is what I do wrong...I do not develop enough skill in every style.
I do not draw enough to handle them all.

EDIT: Is it just me, or can others also not see most images on 2draw?
Kloxboy (Nov 7, 2006)
I totally agree. I let my imagination and skill collaborate as much as possible, and I'm all about happy mistakes sometimes. I like your system.

And yes, every other day, it seems a good third of the images don't load properly. Might be our browsers though, not sure. oO
