Hearts live by being wounded

Oscar Wilde

(*laughing at blue orange*) Well, as long as they didn't abduct you and make you go roller skating with the church "youth group" and then lock you into some sort of ugly annex building for the night with some gross casseroles that the old ladies mixed up before bible class to share with some losers (including the dorky preacher's son)... you're safe. This is when you know escaped home free and you go "yes, there is a God" lol

Build it, tear it apart, then build it stronger. Mold it to satisfaction and shape it to fit. Oh good, your canvas is ready. Now feed your canvas with paint, don't be stingy, your canvas is starving for the stroke of your brush. Feed the canvas with all your want, all your need and all your love. Your painting is growing larger, stronger and more complex. You're a rather good artist, did you know that? I better not say that, you'll get a big head, okay, back to painting. Keep those brush strokes true and build a relationship with your creation. Oh joy, your painting is nearly complete. So much work was this painting, what will come of your labor of love? But, wait, what's this? Something just isn't right with this painting. Hmm, this painting has no future in your art gallery, then again, it never really did, it was just another disposable painting. Another stepping stone to better your craft. So close to perfection, it had potential and could easily be reworked, it obviously craves your attention. But yanno, it would be much easier to just start a new painting. Surely you can paint a better one. Oi vey, look at this studio, it's getting rather crowded, perhaps it's best you burn your 'disposable painting', you need the room for more important things. Set that painting ablaze! Well done, all gone. Ah yes, that's better, now we have room to paint our true vision.

He's afraid he's going to be the next disposable painting. heh... How many of your works do you end up setting ablaze, the ones we never see?

You think that's healing that you're feeling? That pain in the depths of your chest that lingers throughout the day, you know what that is? Make no mistake, it's not healing, it's not creation, it's death. That's right, death. Cold and barren of anything resembling life, that is what you're feeling. The death of what was and what could have been, the death of possibility, the death of opportunity and the death of unity. The choice is to feed the virus, to let it consume something beautiful and right. This is the correct path? I don't think so, no, not at all.

Can she obliterate his heart? Can she shatter his dreams? Yes, she most certainly can. Crawling..he begged, desperate..he pleaded, only to fall deeper into the void, slowly suffocating in his misery. With a lifeless thud, he hits bottom, there he is left mangled and pitted. With each passing hour, he grows hollow, cold and broken. He shudders at the idea of soldiering on, he is scarred for life, forever longing that which he cannot have. The road ahead is most torturous and bleak. His spirit is numbed to the core, he is discouraged to no end. A piece of his being is forever taunted and starved by her memory. Drained is his life, crippled is his soul, spent is his resolve, today -forever- ended. A heartbreak so tragic it echos across time, leaving a diseased and jaded shell of a man in it's wake.

The text in the description has as powerful an impact as the painting. If I knew how to get the colors and textures you have on the wall to work for real I'd paint a room in my house like that. (minus the blood, of course :)
TaCO (Nov 10, 2006)
I hate when that happens.

I keep mine in my head, but it hurts my brain.
Miss_DJ (Nov 10, 2006)
keep creating through the pain. it will go away. although it hurts a little bit more than having your heart torn out and thrust at a wall. Been there, felt like shit. I feel better now...you will too. :o)
sincity (Nov 10, 2006)
Wow, great stuff you been pumping out. sorry to hear about you pain, but the painting seems to help, @ least a little. :}

Ahhhh... I expected such a "cop out" (sorry little brothers, it applies... hah) My little black dress won't fit me then, anyway. sigh. :(

Clox never cops out.. he draws a demon!

So if Gollum actually lived and grew old is this how he would look? He's so sad, really I feel sympathy when I look at him. So amazingly well painted as always Clox.

did you try the planet of the apes (remake by elfman) soundtrack? Also very cool. :}

I agree with Davinci-you got this nailed.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Nov 7, 2006)
Yeah, reduce the size of the mouth a little, add blonde hair... there I am. Oh, and a little heroin addict-like mascara smears under the eyes to accentuate the already dark circles naturally there. My brothers and I used to "compete" at who could stay up the longest... they had their guitars and I would paint... I usually won, unfortunately I still win. As cops, sometimes when they change to night shifts they come over and say, hey sister, you gotta keep me awake tonight, I'm changing schedules tomorrow. Now they are sleeping and I only sleep when it's drug induced. That is when I don't sleep walk through the drugs and get into trouble before I find the bed.

Yeah, the JOYS of INSOMNIA. Yeee motherf!@#$haw.

I have read from more than one source that this is a most common ailment among artists. We tend to suffer from it more than others.

This one looks like a face formed from parts of the wall it's starting to appear from. YOu have such a cool way of shading these.

Oooo... Something a little different. It's sort of cubism-ish, yes?

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.
Take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you'll find love,
And don't forget son,
There is someone up above.

And be a simple kind of man.
Be something you love and understand.
Be a simple kind of man.
Won't you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself.
Follow you heart and nothing else.
And you can do this if you try.
All I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

Great Drawing! So this song was sung by Lynyrd eh? Awesome! The Deftones have a version of this song and I used it to make a home video of my dad playing around with nephew when he was about 5yrs old. My dad passed away from Lung Cancer, so I thought this was the perfect song for it. I made my family cry because when they watched it, they could not believe how sad the song was in correlation with the video.
