Yeah, I know Lori. It's more than a little odd. Thanks Sincity and Davin. I'm glad it made someone laugh. :D
ironoxide_red (Jun 16, 2005)
Well. I'm glad I don't live in Antarctica! :D
Gigge (Jun 16, 2005)
Yes, the truck jacknifed and there was a frozen vegetable break. Antarctica has never been the same. In fact, the name seems to have been changed to Antartica.

That's very good lining for tones, and a first drawing too! Very purty, I hope to see more from you ^w^
Gigge (Jun 16, 2005)
That's neat. The moon reminds me of a big eye peeking from behind the tree. The tree canopy forms a big bushy eyebrow.

His eyes are gorgeous. I also really like the bleak colors. It really gives you a sense for what this guy is like, or at least what he's feeling at the moment. Very cool.
davincipoppalag (Jun 14, 2005)
I dont think I have ever seen a zep pic i didnt like..

Stylish nose - A smiling moustache - eccentric character - he seems comfortable with who he is. great work. (you inspire also)

Waves... pulsating, whispering, hypnotic. Irresistible... warm and soothing. Until the rip tide tears you under and drags you into the cold, dark water.

The lgihts and darks work so nicely in this. =)
Gigge (Jun 11, 2005)
That's so cool. The birch trees almost look like dalmation legs...or maybe a spotted cow. Very nice contrast.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. We had an electrical storm on my birthday.. our cable modem got fried. Just got back online today. Other than that, it was a great birthday.

apparently my monitors darker than everyone else's. i wonder if theres a way to see how close to "normal" brightness your monitor is. hm.

edit: oh hey. i found this if anyones interested. i cant tell the difference in the darkest ones at all. hm...

are they gonna wrench my nuts off?? :O!! *covers crotchital area*
Gigge (edited Jun 2, 2005)
Thanks for the link Mazi. I've wondered about that myself because images seem to vary so much when viewed on different systems. I adjusted my monitor according to the grey scale there and I nearly went blind. Everything was so light and bright. I looked at the pictures on here, and I think most people have their monitors set darker than the standards on that site. There are a lot of strange streaks on some images when you view them on the lighter settings. I tuned my monitor back to the darker settings. I like my rose colored glasses. ;)

Edit: Wow, Xod. I tried that. I can't even see to do that because the whole screen goes almost completely white around gamma 1.8. I can't see to move the slider any more.
Xodiak (Jun 10, 2005)
Settings depend on what kind of graphics card and monitor you have. It is really hard to congifure all the settings in a pleasant way. (especially if you use monitors of different types, cameras, scanners, capture cards, separate 3D or video overlay settings) I wish I knew a website with visual tests so I can configure the monitor and the video card so I could follow some "standards".
My monitor contrast and brightness settings are set to 100% (max)
When I configure my video card's to gamma 1, I can only discern the man's head, hand and tool, his blouse just fainlty and a small part of his trousers. The rest of the picture seems completely black.
When I configure gamma to 1.94, I can discern all of the details completely, but the column looks dark.
When I configure gamma to 3.97 and above, most of the shading details fade away, but I can discern an additional 4 colour pattern on the previously plack pillar. Did you intentionally paint this Miss mazi?

Miss Gigge, my gamma settings go from 0.50 to 6.00.

yeah the pillar was supposed to be solid black. :P

i like the idea of the people being on the rooftops, if im not mistaken...there's even a plant up there! (nice touch). - good concept - well done.
Zack (Jun 7, 2005)
Javier, you could get forty comments on every picture and still be underappreciated. This is fantastic. :)
zep (Jun 10, 2005)
