I may go back and fix this up some more. I am still learning techniques and liked how his muscle tone was coming out.

This is pretty cool. :) I like the earthy colors.

It does kinda look like a cave drawing. :D

I would actually like to delete this one. It is a revised entry and there was no delete option. BUt anyways this one kinda sucks.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 25, 2006)
I'm thinking if you spent a little more time on each piece of art, you'd have less pieces, but you'd be more satisfied with each one? They seem like good starts, but lack detail or finishing.
Felistorm (Jan 26, 2006)
thanks. :) Most of the ones I turned in last night were from my unfinished pieces thing from forever ago. I kind of worked on them but wasn't really sure what else to do w/ them. I tried to delete them but it didn't give me the option. I guess they sat there too long and I lost my "thing" with them. LOL ;) *note to self no more unfinished pieces unless I have serious plans for them.

Got a ways to go on this one but I like the crow how he was. The pumpkin was due to too much space behind him. LOL Have a bunch I want to add and refine. :)

Felistorm (Oct 24, 2005)
Okay same with this one. Says I used more than my limit. How do you keep track of this and what can you do to keep from it? I was hoping to finish up a couple I had that were unfinished.

I like this! It seems to have a story behind it and it is awesomely done!
davincipoppalag (Jan 25, 2006)
This is like a book illustration plate, and judging from the picture, I want to read the book.
Caddris (Jan 26, 2006)
Woah. I love the hatching you've done. Very crisp.

Opium (Mar 21, 2006)
I agree suzie...I swear, I watch this animation all the time because every time I do, I learn something new

Quickie is too similar to her ref. What use is a drawing if it's simply a copy of the truth? A copy of the truth is just that, the truth, and lies are a dozen times more interesting. What the heck does Allen Ginsberg want? Why is America so easy to generalize? Why do we believe everything we see on the television? Can't we think for ourselves anymore? Could we ever. What will become of our computers when the Electricty takes off her clothes I can not think of what I would rather want a toothbrush or a toothpick why do i think so much when i draw and why can't i stop thinking now im okay

I think this is a very effective picture. I tell myself that I copy the truth in order to teach myself to really see something, not just glance at it, make a snap judgement, store it in a vague memory or dismiss it. I love to draw but I do not have a natural facility for noticing visual details and storing them in my 'mind's eye'. Work that is copied or referenced directly from a source is rarely something that will elicit an emotional response from me, though I may admire the technical skill displayed. I want to believe there is a stage or phase in one's development of skill where the urge to 'speak' or express one's feelings or thoughts melds with one's technical abilities and something I think of as Art happens. I'm not there.
Renuar (Jan 23, 2006)
it's a great drawing, with a nice idea behind it.
mx (Jan 23, 2006)
as terracotta mentioned between the technical skill vs. expression....i have a great conflict between the two myself. I want to do the realism as this great pic, yet, i wanna be freed from the technical restrictions. I have not found my style either and its causing a great deal of frustration i must say.
Great technical piece though for the time spent

This is a quickie? Wow, amazing. Very well done, you've captured the alert mood of the bird perfectly.

Well this has taken awhile, the first picture I accidentally erased, then I was having trouble uploading, I'll come back and back to this till it's done, but for now, I'm done, it's late.

There, this is done, finally, just wanted to tweak this before I got it out of my unfinished gallery. I won't waste anymore time on it. I just wanted to tell Marcello thank you for giving me the extra space(s) and putting up with my constant nagging and harrasment (the papers came today, I got it, 200 feet or better) Seriously, thanks so much Marcello.
Noremac (Jan 21, 2006)
felis you're prolly thinking of frazetta. and yeah, looks nice
Sweetcell (Jan 21, 2006)
frazetta and bakshi draw the same kind of genre, I learned from his art and many others, and thanks Nore.

Very clear idea. Nicely drawn too, perfect systhesis of microscopic viewing colours.
SYTHE (Jan 17, 2006)
Originally I was going to have it more black and white. Then I decided to add some blue-ish tinting, but that didn't fly, so I went with yellow-ish tinting. Just about any color looks "Okay" as long as it looks kinda diffused.
Felistorm (Jan 18, 2006)
Hmmmm Mice or sperm w/ thongs. o.O hehe. I LOVE this concept. Awesome! :D
SYTHE (Jan 22, 2006)
No you silly, the mice aren't wearing thongs, I am.......just kidding........or am I?!?

Hello Danielle. ^___^
Felistorm (Jan 5, 2006)
I like the look of this. Full of light. INteresting texture too.
SYTHE (Jan 15, 2006)
Where are the horses? You should add some mountains in the back ground after the fence, it seems to end too abruptly. Nice start.

He should have a combat patch on his right shoulder were the flag is and the flag under that, then it would be perfect. Wearing the patch in this manner signifies that he was deployed to a combat zone. Great peice.

SYTHE, Thanks for the heads-up on the meaning of the patch above the flag. This is of the return of a friend and his wife. He proudly served in Iraq and arrived home safe on Thanksgiving night.
emmamommalag (Jan 21, 2006)
This is a lovely tribute to your friend. I'm glad he arrived home safe and sound and I'm grateful to him for his service to our country.
