I actually like this. It feels like an easter picture and would look great on a card. It has a soft look to it. :D
Ty854 (Jan 31, 2006)
Woah, totally reminds me of redpanda.
davincipoppalag (Jan 31, 2006)

...seeing what had happened, Wanda took the flattened Larry into the alleyway and re-inflated him for a mere $20.00.

(lol @ snort) :)... I hate to work poor lil' ole' Bob's fingers to the bone, but I am dying to know what Larry's estranged, yet violent and psychopathic wife is going to do to him when she catches him rounding that corner with that big fat smile and 20 bucks less in his wallet.... Talk about needing paramedics, now. ;)
SYTHE (Jan 31, 2006)
Hey, I thought that guy was dead.....aw man......now I gotta cancel the funeral arrangements. What a second, who was the guy we had embalmed......oh well. -very hummerous-
friend (Feb 1, 2006)
hmmm i wonder how she re-inflated him, if you know what i mean! :P
Lol, very funny. This guy better be careful before he loses all his money!

I couldn't quite get the dragon how I wanted it. I did like how the lightening came out though. Was not feeling good and had taken some theraflu. LOL

I think it needs more contrast, and definitly strong highlights restricted to the edges of the form to identify the light source from the lightning.
Felistorm (Jan 30, 2006)
I see what you mean. :) I was so fuzzy headed last night and couldn't figure it out but I see now. ;)
hideyourface (Jan 30, 2006)
the lightning should be pure white considering it's extremely bright, and it should be casting a bright light on the fasr side of the dragon. I also think that all the colours having the same saturation kind of looks weird.

I like this! It seems to have a story behind it and it is awesomely done!
davincipoppalag (Jan 25, 2006)
This is like a book illustration plate, and judging from the picture, I want to read the book.
Caddris (Jan 26, 2006)
Woah. I love the hatching you've done. Very crisp.

I think this picture is basically finished and i love it. I think the cup and spoon just needs a slight bit more definition....i wouldnt add anything other than that personally
I like it
LisaAnne (Jan 28, 2006)
Love the color. Thumbs up.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jan 28, 2006)
I love the vinyl fabric on the booth... you made it look so real (amazing). Not sure how I missed this one, but I'm glad somebody commented on it and brought it to my attention.

I wish she would feel like finishing it.

thanks for the comments, I'm getting another one soon
Childlike_Vampire (Jan 26, 2006)
What a great painterly drawing of a kitty! It's a very sweet tribute to your kitties. I really love the texture of it a lot, it looks so soft and detailed.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 26, 2006)
I used all the cats we ever had for nerf balls (if you hold them just right you can throw them a really, really long way) and then the last one we had got ear mites and when I tried to doctor them she tried to bite me and I shot her. Get a dog, I say. Yes, I'm evil.
Sweetcell (Jan 27, 2006)
Sorry to hear that PS. I've had 5 cats in my liftime (my that's a lot) and lost three of them. The last two are getting up there, it's a lovely tribute.

I may go back and fix this up some more. I am still learning techniques and liked how his muscle tone was coming out.

This is pretty cool. :) I like the earthy colors.

It does kinda look like a cave drawing. :D

I would actually like to delete this one. It is a revised entry and there was no delete option. BUt anyways this one kinda sucks.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 25, 2006)
I'm thinking if you spent a little more time on each piece of art, you'd have less pieces, but you'd be more satisfied with each one? They seem like good starts, but lack detail or finishing.
Felistorm (Jan 26, 2006)
thanks. :) Most of the ones I turned in last night were from my unfinished pieces thing from forever ago. I kind of worked on them but wasn't really sure what else to do w/ them. I tried to delete them but it didn't give me the option. I guess they sat there too long and I lost my "thing" with them. LOL ;) *note to self no more unfinished pieces unless I have serious plans for them.

Quickie is too similar to her ref. What use is a drawing if it's simply a copy of the truth? A copy of the truth is just that, the truth, and lies are a dozen times more interesting. What the heck does Allen Ginsberg want? Why is America so easy to generalize? Why do we believe everything we see on the television? Can't we think for ourselves anymore? Could we ever. What will become of our computers when the Electricty takes off her clothes I can not think of what I would rather want a toothbrush or a toothpick why do i think so much when i draw and why can't i stop thinking now im okay

I think this is a very effective picture. I tell myself that I copy the truth in order to teach myself to really see something, not just glance at it, make a snap judgement, store it in a vague memory or dismiss it. I love to draw but I do not have a natural facility for noticing visual details and storing them in my 'mind's eye'. Work that is copied or referenced directly from a source is rarely something that will elicit an emotional response from me, though I may admire the technical skill displayed. I want to believe there is a stage or phase in one's development of skill where the urge to 'speak' or express one's feelings or thoughts melds with one's technical abilities and something I think of as Art happens. I'm not there.
Renuar (Jan 23, 2006)
it's a great drawing, with a nice idea behind it.
mx (Jan 23, 2006)
as terracotta mentioned between the technical skill vs. expression....i have a great conflict between the two myself. I want to do the realism as this great pic, yet, i wanna be freed from the technical restrictions. I have not found my style either and its causing a great deal of frustration i must say.
Great technical piece though for the time spent
HunterKiller_ (Jan 24, 2006)
This is a quickie? Wow, amazing. Very well done, you've captured the alert mood of the bird perfectly.

featherstone (Dec 29, 2005)
I don't know this show whatsoever, but I think that guy is so ugly and you drew him so well
kejoco (Jan 24, 2006)
I'd say he's lost alright, with a haircut like that, he's lost something.

I doubt its his virginity
