There are a few people who are particularly mean to newbies, but most of the people who give honest criticism on pictures are well-intentioned, I think. You need to be able to deal with both types of people. I personally enjoy the fact that 2draw is not a community of back-patters. Criticism can help you grow as an artist, if you're wise enough to actually listen to it (and also not take it at face value).One key thing is to accept your current state as an artist. People you know in real life will almost always be supportive of you, no matter how terrible an artist you are. When you talk to other artists, however, they will not be so fake with you. We will not lie to you and tell you that your drawings are good when they are not. It's not cruelty, it's honesty. Some people will take that too far and try to hurt you with that, but you just have to be mature and ignore those people. Once again, this website is a dictatorship, not a democracy. If you don't like the people here, it'd probably be best to leave. But if you leave, that means you've given up and let the rude people beat you. It's up to you. |

hey, If Mr. Rikku's not comfortable about coloring such a thing like this, then ofcourse it's just up to him. I do agree in the bathing suit thingie, but that's just as thing turns out. I'm just glad he atleast said it. and I sp agree with Mr. Xod. I like Mr. Rikku too, and he shouldn't be forced to do anything that he don't want to... now I'll do something else for him soon ^_^ |

MWAHAHA!!It is finished! This has got to be my best picture yet. I think the fact that I didn't add huge eyes and bushy hair helped. Oh, and the fact that I tried to be more...realistic. The teeth look a /little/ off, though. Well, please comment! :D

Rikku: I think she meant her best drawing. Not 2draws best drawing. ^^I like it 'sept I don't understand the blobular thing ouitside of the mouth and you should try to even out the lettering cause it looks like you ran out of room and were too impatient to fix it. Unless that was intentional in wich case, I don't like it that much. But I love how it llooks sort of like a painting. It looks like the persons lips are natrually pink and they're just wearing lip-liner. Also I have a weird urge to poke the left vang. O.O *Peace*

What do you look for when you look at a picture? Something that strikes your interest? Balance in the picture? Colors you prefer? Or overall appearance? What I generally look for in a picture is a expression; a certain feeling that the artist presents to the viewer. Weather it be gloomy, grand, sullen, serene, etc. I try and look and find what the artist tried to accomplish in the picture. Tell me your views.

This is a painting I'm working on at school, based on early/synthetic Picasso and a bit of Boccioni It's not quite finished, it's supposed to incorperate an instrument and a word (you can see the slide and pipes of the trombone at the top and bottom, and an abstract bell of the instrument behind the face) and basically I was just wondering what y'all thought! It's a self portrait :)
