Hello there!
This is the Advanced Board Train. We will not depart until you step in!
:P
You should really post everything you do on the Advanced Board.
Great great pic.
davincipoppalag (Mar 9, 2005)
Ew...nothin.. this is great. You drew such "tood" in this one...love it.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 27, 2005)
Just wandering around in your gallery to see what I might have missed, and boy did I miss a dooozey. HAH... This is priceless, I think you captured some of what I admire about the person in this picture.

reference: http://www.helnwein.de/werke/home/home.html I was inspired to do a study from one of his paintings (oil and acrylic on canvas) after being directed to his site from a link that zep left on one of my drawings. This guy rocks my boat.

Helnwein...Helnwein...:O YES! I know who he is! I read a good book about him, and his paintings. It was him who did the medical pictures, right? And those images of famous people that were so dark you could only see in just the right light. This is goooood, Cindy, goooood.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 9, 2005)
That's some pretty cool stuff, zep... once again. (and thanks, ya'll, it was fun and I learned alot)

Ain't getting old,
ain't getting younger though
Just getting used
to the lay of the land
I ain't tongue-tied,
just don't got nothin' to say
I'm proud to be livin' in the U.S.A.

Ready to go, willin' to stay and pay
U.S.A., U.S.A.
So my sweet love can dance
another free day
U.S.A., U.S.A.

In history we painted pictures grim
The devil knows
we might feel that way again
The big wind blows,
so the tall grass bends
But for you don't
push too hard my friend.

Ready to go, willin' to stay and pay
U.S.A., U.S.A.
So my sweet wife can dance
another free day
U.S.A., U.S.A.

Got people here
down on their knees and prayin'
Hawks and doves
are circlin' in the rain
Got rock and roll,
got country music playin'
If you hate us, you just
don't know what you're sayin'.

Ready to go, willin' to stay and pay
U.S.A., U.S.A.
So my sweet love can dance
another free day
U.S.A., U.S.A.

Big wheels keep on turning,
carry me home to see my kin
singing songs about the southland.
I miss ole bamy once again and I think it's a sin. Yes.

Well, I heard Mister Young sing about her.
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down.
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
a southern man don't need him around anyhow.

Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue.
Sweet home Alabama, Lord, I'm coming home to you. - Lynard Skynard

heh... sorry, that's one of my favorite songs and since I run out of stuff to say here and I like this picture, I couldn't help myself. :)

Wow, that's damn nifty.

Thanks

Sometimes I try to refrain from commenting on your work because it seems like I just follow you around and wait for you to draw something new and great like this so I can look at it. (Don't tell anyone, but I do.) This reminded me of my Daddy's old worn out wrangler shirts that he wears to work around the ranch that I steal when they get old and soft. I like this picture alot and I had to say so.
kejoco (Mar 10, 2005)
I think the fact that you left the technique a little loose works really well with the subject
looks awesome dan
i'm sort of like dba, don't comment on all your pictures even though most of them are awesome because i feel i'll become redundant and none of the comments would mean anything

Well, on my computer it looked fine in v1 anyway.Marcello must have a really tinted screen.
staci (Mar 9, 2005)
:o i had no clue that was hidden there when i first viewed. thanks version 2!
marcello (Mar 9, 2005)
my screen is fine, but most people don't have as l33t a screen as I do. contrast is contrast, it has little to do with the screen.
v2 is way better. it adds better balance, focus, and composition.
Gigandas (Mar 9, 2005)

I'm sure glad I made better grades in English and Literature than I did in geometry. That is just sad.

you use the other side of the brain? you mean, just take a picture, and view it very objectively, minus any meaning to the picture? your brain just photographs it literally?
Teapot (Apr 19, 2015)
It results in forcing you to see more accurately what you're looking at rather than drawing a preconceived notion of what something looks like. Everyone does that unconsciously. I'm sure you can get 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' by Betty Edwards from your local library. http://www.amazon.com/The-Drawing-Right-Side-Brain/dp/0874774241

You know what I mean, featherperson... lol.. it's pleasing, it's just not.. pretty. Thanks Zep, I had never viewed any of that artists' work, and mine certainly isn't of his skill level... it must be the blue tones. The painting I saw was totally cool... I'm a fan now.
zep (Mar 8, 2005)
ok...maybe the blue tones, and this man it´s amazing isn´t he?, take a look of his installations, i have the opportunity to see one over chicago, was simply awesome!!
featherstone (edited Mar 8, 2005)
featherperson, lol well no... men are not "pretty"... lol.... they are... hmm.... uh.... sexy! but... only if they have a brain too :D

Makes me want to go out in the yard and lay down and peek through the grass so it looks like that. Very pretty and springy.
