DinoFlorist (Oct 25, 2004)
This is the Erlkonig (erlking) by Franz Schubert! I mean, its the illustration of that song (lieder), to me. The Erlking is the King of the Alders, and the song is about a boy who rides with his father through a forest. THe Erlking tries to entice the boy and whispers softly to him, but the father can't hear it. Then the father eventually believes him and they ride as fast as they can! When they get home, the boy is dead. Even though the song is in German ( I think), you can totally tell what is going on. It's great! I bet you never even knew that you were that cultured!

NIKNIKKNUTZEN (Dec 4, 2004)
This is a really good picture. It has some really nice detail in it. the planes look cool.
DarkCloak (Dec 6, 2004)
Nice drawing! My gradfather was a navigator in a B-17. Flew over 60 missions, and only missed 1 because he came down with the flu. His commanding officer didn't want him on the plane, told him to stay on the ground. So he stayed on the ground and watched his buddies take off with the rest of the squadron. His plane never returned. The entire flight crew was MIA. Strangely, his plane was the only plane that didn't make it back. Kinda freaky, eh?
davincipoppalag (Dec 6, 2004)
Sure is! Wow.. you hear stuff like that.. and its amazing. Wife's dad was bombardier in B24s.. he was on the Roumanian oil refinery raids ( I have a pic of that too in here).. |

Ahhh...kejo..but what a terrific name for a rock band.."Lesbian Hyenas"
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 20, 2004)
Kind of like you would really "see it in the dark"... I love that documentary about the lions and the hyenas - fascinating.
Gigge (Oct 20, 2004)
"Reproduction in the female spotted hyena has sparked intense scientific interest because the animal is extremely masculinized from high levels of male hormones and she gives birth through an elongated clitoris the same size as a penis. Scientists have wondered what evolutionary advantage could offset the dangers of this strange reproductive system."I vaguely recall hearing that female hyenas have the highest childbirth mortality rate of any mammal. I never stopped to think why. Ick. *shivers*
Xodiak (Oct 20, 2004)
I once saw a hyena licking the hand of a man. That sounds cute rather than terrifying. But I have also seen how another man's face was mutilated after a hyena attack. A hyena can crush bones in its jaws, it can crash them like biscuits. <:)|XOD| |

You have to be an artist and a madman, a creature of infinite melancholy, with a bubble of hot poison in your loins and a super-voluptuous flame permanently aglow in your subtle spine (oh, how you have to cringe and hide!), in order to discern at once, by ineffable signs—the slightly feline outline of a cheekbone, the slenderness of a downy limb, and other indices which despair and shame and tears of tenderness forbid me to tabulate—the little deadly demon among the wholesome children; she stands unrecognized by them and unconscious herself of her fantastic power.
mooki (May 21, 2007)
oh my god its XODi thought you were dead... this is fabulously intriguing and sexy. in a weird way
foxman8245 (Nov 27, 2007)
he looks like my 7th grade Science teacher.. "Sparky" .. at least that's what we called him
Miss_DJ (Jun 7, 2009)
it's been 2 years since someone has commented on this? It's drawn on a canvas we couldn't possibly have now, with tools that are no longer available. or so it seems.......it's that amazing and that well done. I'm in awe as I stare at it, trying to remember it's a drawing......
davincipoppalag (Apr 22, 2021)
and its still amazing all these years later |

oooO0o Kejo! It sooo shiny. And I really like how you drew the table top/green felt stuff : ]rounded it out a little...i hope
Xodiak (Oct 21, 2004)
Great, shiny little pool ball. I guess beginners or people who have not played the game ever (like me) will confuse the 9 and 6 balls. I like the texture of the green thing of compressed fibers that I cannot name because my old, torn english to greek and greek to english dictionary does not have the word. Oh, it must be called a "felt". Thank you babelfish!Very nice drawing Mr. Weiner! You certainly are a winner! >;) |XOD|
sincity (Oct 21, 2004)
Nice ball..billiard ball that is. It came out great. everything looks perfect. Good that it's a yellow ball, not blue. I had blue once, wouldnt wish that on anyone. Guys I mean. |

Simple bold strokes with a little blur tool thrown in for good measure. It's not all perfect and detailed, that's how I wanted to do it. Something fun, easy no sweat or effort. It was refreshing.
xwindflyer (edited Oct 19, 2004)
Hi DBA, how's it going? Looks like your still busy painting and all. I'll take a cup of your coffee.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 19, 2004)
You sure you can handle John Wayne coffee?... talk about flyin'... this'll send ya. :)
xwindflyer (Oct 22, 2004)
Laughing at DBA, I can handle anything that allows me to fly.
