Watercolors
DarkCloak
(Nov 20, 2006)
The people on this board can be really inspiring... After looking through several user galleries, I decided to give watercolors a try. And what better way to practice watercolors than an attempt at realism? I stopped when I realized I can't do a background without ruining the stuff I've already worked on. Ah well, at least I learned something from it.
frootcake (Nov 21, 2006)
i wonder whose galleries'

I love seeing your stuff-its been a while. The guy (kissing or praying over) with the cross just adds to the feel of finality. Awesome job.
Deino (Nov 11, 2006)
You know what I love form your drawing DarkCloack? That even in a "cartoon" style, they convey such a dramatism and emotion....
~~PuFFeR~~ (Nov 16, 2006)
Wow...I just looked at your user board, and you are very good! |

I could never get used to the sight of the Astarran night patrol. I try not to make eye contact and do my best to avoid confrontation... I cannot help but wonder what these servents of Astarr really are. Were they once men, loyal to the cruel overlord and turned into machines? Or could they be our country's fallen warriors, brought back from the dead to serve against their will? The thought that one of these ghoulish machine men could have once been my husband haunt my dreams at night.
Sweetcell (Aug 20, 2006)
A pic from the DC of Kensington. Your pictures always stand out and I love to look at them and all the little details you put in. Hope to learn the mysetery behind these men. And those are some badass guns.
nekodesu (Aug 20, 2006)
Scary >_< I wouldn't want an army of them patroling my area.

The Kamfgruppe is on the move again. The lead panzer kampfwagon rumbles down the road at a cruising speed. Mister Whiskers, the newest addition to the crew, sleeps soundly despite the creaking treads and grinding engine block.I'm never going to finish this sucker and I need to clear out my unfinished drawings... I thought there was a delete option somewhere around here?
CommaQueen (Jun 24, 2006)
Wow. This goes beyond words. I didn't even realize the cat was up there at first until I read the description--there's so much going on here. In a good way. Do you intend to color this?? I'd like to express a twinge of jealousy (but mostly awe) that you can do something so neat so quickly.
Sweetcell (Jun 25, 2006)
Huh, and all this time I feared for that cat. Interesting they'd even want to have the kitty around. I agree with all that's said, now to just wait for it to be colored.
Expendable-Studios (Oct 10, 2006)
drawing that would drive me crazy after a while, it's so crowded. i love how you do german soilders, they are the coolest looking troops in history.
Noremac (Oct 10, 2006)

Suddenly the German Kampfgruppe ground to a halt. Stopped not by enemy fire, but by a stubborn cat.
solve (Jun 25, 2006)
Im going to havta coax you into posting more often if these are the end results! Just kidding, I dont take an resposability for these. Rats off to you sir.
DinoFlorist (Jun 25, 2006)
Great picture. Every time I see a picture you've done it makes me want to draw. Then I try and I can't come close so I cry.
Sweetcell (Jun 25, 2006)
You make even the German's funny, as in interesting. (did that makes sense?)I'm curious, have you or do you ever plan to work on a comic? I'd certainly buy them. I love that such a juggernaut was stopped by a small little thing like that. Till they point that cannon of theirs.
IkariIreuL (Jun 28, 2006)
yeah, I like how it shows many different expressions for the same situation. |

solve (Jun 21, 2006)
Damn, I just talked to you about posting. I come on 2draw and I find this wonderful work of art! One of the great things Ive found in your art and subjects is the brutality of war, among others thing (commerades, "grimness", unity, destruction, etc). I dont know what you have studied/experienced but you always pull/emulate war well. Anyways Im glad to see this. I like the contrast/focus on the main subject. I also really like the dark ambience around the death like figure. |

Well, I just got back from Boston the other day, so this is slightly inspired by the scenery I passed going through New York state. I don't really like drawing landscapes, but thought I'd give it a try anyways.
Kloxboy (Jun 20, 2006)
That's beautiful. I like the style you used, it's clean. Nice rolling hill composition as well.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 20, 2006)
You managed to impart a great sense of depth here...we're seeing a long way, and it feels right all the way from the flowers in the foreground into the woods. Pretty much an "S" composition and a very good use of it. I love the little tractor. (and the little red truck! :)
davincipoppalag (Jun 20, 2006)
Cindy..that's a Ford Pickup back there. This has a sort of primitive feel...and amidst the pretty countryside,,a cellphone tower
Deino (Jun 21, 2006)

Suddenly the blast door buckled and exploded, filling the enterance with smoke and twisted metal. Before the debris had time to settle, Combine soldiers began pouring into the room, their muffled static ridden voices crackled as they shouted to each other."Sector seven breech! Flash-Flash-Flash!"
JK-Arts (Jun 4, 2006)
you always draw cool little comic pictures this is no exception it is cool
Noremac (edited Jun 4, 2006)
