Sparkle in the Wilderness

Basing on the mood I'm in. :) You've probably seen it before. Same old thing... combination of cliffs, rocks, and other sparkly things. Inspired by music as well. At the same time I was listening to the ... Sound of Music. Hey, it was on TV, ok? lol I like that movie tho.

It's funny, cause i don't really like it. You do use color very well, but it doesn't catch my eye. Maybe i find it a bit too abstract. And too red. And i usually like all your pics.

Well while everyone else seems to gush over this piece, it's no better or worse really, than several of your others you've done in the past... obviously, the emphasis here is on color and not really composition or coherency, and that tends to turn off some people. Yes, you know how to combine lots of bright and varying colors to make these interesting effects...you've established this long ago, but now it seems to me that you are stuck in a bit of a rut. The vast majority of your works which are not anime, look exactly like this piece, color-wise and style-wise. I suppose this is just because it's what you know and are comfortable with, and I like it, but it's starting to reek of repetitiveness. Why don't you try something different for a change? Just a thought. I agree, in a sense, with Vera, in that I've seen this many many times before. You also recycle many of the same elements that you use in other works (the stepping cloud outlines, circles, sparkles, filling the image with a color and erasing out parts of it). Stop copying yourself, silly. You've already nailed this style to death. :P

Oh yeah I just realised that she can still do some more editing lol I thought I went past the size limit. Actually, paul, I wasn't the one that suggested that we do a collab, she's the one that memoed me and asked me. She wants to do some more practicing. lol And she even suggested we do a Christmas pic... (sorta) But after this, I told her that she can finish off the rest. (box, ribbons, redraw the lines, etc.) XD I couldn't help it! I wanted to do the elf too and the leaves, etc. hehe

Wow you guys finished this beautifully. When I saw the first few versions of this I'm like "what is this?it looks awkward" but seriously, it looks way cool now. Again, wow. Wonderful job.

Hey this is pretty good. She looks a bit older than her 15 years (and so does the one on TV lol) but is this her when she gets married to Amon (or so we hope she would...?)...? lol (no offense but Amon's like 10 years older than her?!) Well, good job!! |

I was watching some anime show and it talked about cherishing your youthfulness and I thought: 'hmm. interesting.' Well, a person may age to be old and grey (and in the picture, it seems like her hair didn't change. lol hehe that's the twist.) but you can still be young at heart.

hmmm..."she" doesn't look old, really. And I know that's spose to be a sparkle on her nose's point, but it looks like her nose spikes out on the end, lol. Maybe it's the eye... looks very male....or the shape and size of the nose... ahhh I dunno what it is. Did u base that person on a character drawing from somewhere? Maybe that would help me. Now, the b&w sketches are definitely feminine, but the colored... *shrug*.

Oh I just thought it out in my head... or i think it was in my dream... Originally I was gonna do just some girl but then I knew I screwed up the face so I thought I'd distort it by adding some zit and freckles and junk. So it made sense to me to make it weird and witchy. Almost scary though. Come to think of it, it does look almost like those peasant boys back in the medieval times... Oh and the nose... hehe I got that from Escaflowne... you know how pointy their noses are? Man! You'd think they were half witches or something. lol No offense to escaflowne fans.

if you notice the green and red colours are switched. The yellow needs to be moved up and a pink needs to be added. That's what's different between the two.
