in my opinion, the ever so subtle shade variations are what make good snow, like you did here.
Shoebox (May 9, 2006)
Thanks guys. I was just pretty warm today.. I needed something to cool me off.
Sweetcell (May 9, 2006)
Brrr, the last thing I need a reminder of, but it's a great portrayal of ice crystals....

Deino, come up to Canada in winter, I promise you'll see snow, a lot of it, a hella lot of it.
davincipoppalag (May 9, 2006)
Good looking snowprints. I'll mail you some next winter Deino

I found some very good refs for the male figure.
I feel like studying them.

I found it. I knew I had this book somewhere around here.

loomis is great. His books used to be online. Apparently not now though.

Theres a Andrew Loomis book on "human anatomy for artists online" website.

Simple yet interesting pose. The subject has a good build too. For the lack of details in area this shows a lot. I think you did best on the legs and torso.
SYTHE (May 12, 2006)
This is an awsome quick sketch. You have a superb anatomical understanding, great pic.

ok, I'm guessing, David Bowie's cousin gets a job as battery tester? Excellent work, though.
Axil62 (May 9, 2006)
Very good! :)
solve (May 9, 2006)
Little too muscular for David Bowie, he seems to have lean muscle (Bowie).
But.. The face ( With the "sharp" cheekbones, eyes, and nose) are similiar. More than similiar but yes.

this is a representation of what it looks like when im sad...and the person in the back represents how far away people feel. yea yea...corny, but I go for walks when im sad, and this was the park behind my house.

it looks a little lonely, but still nice somehow. I think the light indicates hope. nice draw.

"The Day Begins"

Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight,
Red is gray and yellow white,
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion?
Pinprick holes in a colourless sky,
Let insipid figures of light pass by,
The mighty light of ten thousand suns,
Challenges infinity and is soon gone.
Night time, to some a brief interlude,
To others the fear of solitude.
Brave Helios wake up your steads,
Bring the warmth the countryside needs.

This is the best thing you've ever done here, in my opinion. It has great depth, I love the angle on the sidewalk and it definitely has a solitary mood to it.

You have cool tattoos...but Mr.Natural? You're an interesting fellow broski.
frootcake (May 9, 2006)
nice collection, but to have God from the sistine ceiling is wowzers, i'd hate to be that tattooist. you should get the rest of genesis done..
SYTHE (May 12, 2006)
You look like a retired Marine, from now on I'll refer to you as Mr. Axil-Sir. Self portraits are always the most difficult, great job.

I was thinking electrical..now you say spring.. I see a strut.Let me be first to say DUH..
staci (May 6, 2006)
shock..absorber. right.

it looks much better at 100 or 50%..its pretty pixelated right now : /
Mal (May 6, 2006)
Thanks for all your comments, I havent actually got all the proportions right Staci :p it doesnt quite look like the ref i had to take out one of the coils on the spring and hope no one would notice lol. Drawing people can be very tricky especially things like hands :-s
I suck at linking
Axil62 (edited May 6, 2006)
I'd say this shock absorber is probably for a softail mountain bike.

Edit: then I check the ref and see it's for a motorbike. Well done. :)
