I wish I was the pedal brake that you depended on.
I wish I was the verb to trust and never let you down.

this is cooler than some kind of thing that has five things and only four of them are cool and the other one is just regular.

Tulips are my favorite. Wonderful drawing
shults (Sep 5, 2010)
Tulips are of my favorites, but only in gardens. They seemed trapped in vases.

I at first thought it was a pc. of meat, but then realized it is a grapefruit and done very well. Love the way you've done the skin on it. Your coloring is excellent, lovely work.
mursku (Feb 9, 2010)
hehe, on one hand its awesome how realistic you have managed to make the grapefruit, but on the other hand it makes me sick how the glistening pieces of the fruit look... urgh
..anyways, two thumbs up for the awesome display of skill

Working on a "real life" collaboration with a friend. This is the concept of that idea to be painted on 5' by 3' canvas.

This picture really is thought provoking. When I first saw it it struck me as being very cool but didn't really understand the story it was trying to tell until I just stared at for a few minutes to absorb everything. I THINK I know what it's supposed to mean but it probably is one of those that means something different to whoever looks at it. Every little part has some meaning. Very cool and wonderfully drawn.

Hey paladin590,,, Every country is a "settlement" built on "stolen lands" Quit your crying.
paladin590 (Jun 19, 2012)
@adxaidl3692. So I understand, If I stole your house and throw you out, Then it would be my Home..that explains much your country's politics.

Very cool, silk screen look, was this done with layers, and masking? I am a newbie and would love some pointers on how this is done. :D thanks
patienceisoverrated (edited Feb 7, 2008)
thanks, I use layers, I don't find masking very useful unless you are using your brush with anti-alias turned off, it's always screwing up around edges. I use the round brush on full flow/opacity with the soft edge, the third one down to the left of the brush size selector thingy, and then use the same eraser to whittle down or define the shapes. This is a lot like using the pen tool, if you're familiar with shi-painter, but without the flow. Lascaux has a really useful 'preserve layer transparancy' thing that can be used a little like mask and will preserve the smooth edges, that's how I did the crane in the feather shape. I drew in the feather shape on a new layer in all one colour, then preserved transparancy, so I could draw the crane in without messing up the details on the edges of the feathers. The girl and background are on the bottom layer, the spine on the next, and then the feathers and crane on top.
