He looks like an uncle of mine. This has the look of one of those political cartoons you see on the editorials page. It's very interesting!
laurael (edited Jul 2, 2004)
That name sounds like it just 'so' fits this character. Great sketch here...you're the Sketch King, Dino.
Aubrey (Jul 2, 2004)
Cool Vulture type fella Dino, very creative, and it DOES look like somethin you'd see in a political cartoon. Very great observation! You draw such neat pictures Dino :)
Gigge (Jul 2, 2004)
Look at the size of tha talon! Great sketch, Dino.

I wanted to paint some fireworks, so I did this from a pretty photograph I found

Most every year I get together with my brothers and we set a good example for all of our children by shooting roman candles at each other, wiring bottle rockets together and holding stuff in our hands until it almost (just almost) explodes, lighting the whole package of black cats and throwing it at the neighbor's annoying dog. It's still not as much fun as when I was little and my uncle would help us build homemade stuff out of gunpowder, foil, matches and stuff. Can't do that sort of thing anymore... it's dangerous.

wohoo! Excellent. Your description reminds me of what I still do, too! :D FUN FUN FUN! I looooove the colors in the water! Just gorgeous!
davincipoppalag (Jul 2, 2004)
Gorgeous work on the reflected colors in the water! The shellbursts are particularly good also!
laurael (Jul 2, 2004)
This is just spectacular looking dba...wow. What G said about the colors reflected on the water...yeah.
The Queen Mary, huh? I was so close to this ocean liner one time, I reached out and 'touched' it.... :] Awesome ship, awesome artistry, dba.
Aubrey (Jul 2, 2004)
I wish I had a view of the fireworks from there lol. Hope they don't get rained out this year.. seems to be a plague here lately :-/

Great face zep! This reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode too, where they had a fella who ran a diner and when he took his hat off..he had the third eye too.
Aubrey (Jul 2, 2004)
Yeah the colors go really well together.. and, as always... your style is unmistakable :)
Zack (Jul 2, 2004)
gotta love Zep's distinct shading/inking style, and the faces are all so expressive. rock on, man. I swear I'll start coloring that giant guy you drew for me soon. just as soon as I find where the floor is. ok, there it is... progress...
Knockoff (Jul 4, 2004)
wow. The colors are awesome. I love the insect eyes too :) The hands are awesome, the black lines you do are great, they make everything stick out just a bit more. :)

Wow..I really like this one zep. The bg colors and details really add to it. The robot creature is very very cool!
Aubrey (Jul 2, 2004)
Can always see the imagination in your drawings. This is another page in your future book of pictures lol :-D
Kloxboy (Jul 2, 2004)
Damn, I missed this one, nice work bro, very cool. Cosmic-trippy meets contemporary illustration is my favorite type of art, this about fits in there.

They are fascinated with Clem's shiny cleanness..he just got detailed at the mudskipper wash..
Aubrey (Jul 2, 2004)
Looks like she's hoping he'll fall on the stick lol. This is such a cute picture. You can tell he's really happy.
DinoFlorist (Jul 5, 2004)
I think that your mudskipper pictures are your best pictures. That's saying a lot, considering I told you 'zen' was the best one I'd seen on here. But the mudskippers are so imaginitive and great looking. The whole mudskipper tale could be done in a series of drawings or painitngs or a book and the drawings would win a caldecott medal!
emmamommalag (Jul 17, 2004)
Skippy? Clem? Is this a tv show? Whatever it is, these things are cute. :)

I like this style...it makes it look more disturbing than it really is:)
Aubrey (Jul 2, 2004)
Cool monkey.. the not having any eyes makes it look kinda evil... lol But very cool picture Lori!
Gigandas (Jul 3, 2004)
I agree with Aubrey, it does kinda look evil but that's how I like it ;).That'd be really cool if you added like some flames to the bg.Nah, jk, it's fine the way it is^^.I like all the wrinkles and hair that you drew so well....damn^^;.
LovelyLori (Jul 3, 2004)
lolll... maybe I will do that ;) I agree, this is one whacked out chimp, I was a bit lazy with this one

thanks y'all, i try, i'd love to be able to get more realism in my art, but they remain more character like, lol, is that the word for it?.....
emmamommalag (Jul 1, 2004)
I don't know what you call them but I love all your pictures, longway. This one's really nice.. I love her wavy hair and the night sky in the background.
laurael (edited Jul 1, 2004)
I like the wavey hair too and the dress...love that dress. Emma, longway's got at 'least' a million more great pictures to come too...just you wait... :]
Aubrey (Jul 2, 2004)
