Oooh, I love this. That sky is beautiful, star. I love how you've made the sunlight-filled holes in the cloud cover and those sunbeams coming down... wow! Great pic! :)
Aubrey (Jul 19, 2004)

Very nice....You have tremendous talent. This would make a great series of boards.
You know...after browsing through so many artists on here....I think it would be fun to have a comic with each panel done by a different person on here. Creativity tag. Each artist does a panel, then picks the next one to do it....or else the moderators do...lol.....the trepidation of seeing memos waiting....wondering if you've been chosen for the next panel....Dont know if theres a suggeston box...but I'm going to look.
KiwiKitsune (Jul 18, 2004)
Woah! Woah, woah, woah! :D I LOVE the lineart on this! It's absolutely freaking amazing!! >> You gotta teach us all how to do stuff like that... *sighs*
Zack (edited Jul 18, 2004)
Believe it or not, the timer for this is pretty much accurate. I spent versions 5 and 9 doing nothing but cleaning up the lines. That's about 4 hours. For the antialiasing in version 9, all I did was crank up the music, zoom in to 300% or 400%, and set brush/eraser opacity to one-third.

Jack: The closest thing we have to a suggestion box is Marcello's inbox. It wouldn't hurt to post your idea in the forums too, so you could rally support. It sounds like a cool idea to me. Also, I like series because they give me certain limitations to work with... if you ever get stuck on what to do next, you just pick one of your series and continue it, y'know?

Ty: That one probably would have worked out pretty cool, but I didn't want this guy to look evil, so I decided against it.
Ty854 (Jul 19, 2004)
alrighty. you should do an evil one tho too. that'd be pretty cool.

I like this picture. It reminds me of a video game. I would definitley play a video game involving ants that build a house.

This is cute. The title made me smile before I even saw the picture. :)

should have done this before, but just to make sure nobody thinks this is a terrorist or that i am a terrorist sympathizer...this should put the painting into perspective a little bit
this is a quote, an excerpt from an essay by insurgent subcomandante marcos of the Zapatistas released in 94

"The oldest of the old in the Indigenous communities say that there once was a man named Zapata who rose up with his people and sang out, "Land and Freedom!" These old campesinos say that Zapata didn't die, that he must return. These old campesinos also say that the wind and the rain and the sun tell the campesinos when to cultivate the land, when to plant and when to harvest. They say that hope is also planted and harvested. They also say that the wind and the rain and the sun are now saying something different: that with so much poverty, the time has come to harvest rebellion instead of death. That is what the old campesinos say. The powerful don't hear; they can't hear, they are deafened by the brutality that the Empire shouts in their ears. 'Zapata,' insists the wind, the wind from below, our wind."

the whole essay can be found at http://zapatistas.net/two-winds.html

Great piece. I watched the animation. You wiped out a background guy. The gun must have backfired.
Fin_beast (Jul 15, 2004)
This picture makes me feel very uneasy. It's scary how it makes you feel like you are being threatened.
I really like this picture and it's one picture that I think should have a place in the showcase.
I may try something like this, to try and get the same effect.
Ari (Jul 15, 2004)
Lovely picture... Wish I could draw that well...

Wow, very realistic drawing, the focus on the firearm makes it so great.
Oh and I saw the decapitation video on a website, without any censoring.

Yet another one I missed. I dunno how. Must be blind or something but CAN'T be if I can see how purdy this is :) All those lil details in the flowers are really pretty and I like how they just trail off along with the mountains ((((poppadarlin)))))

Reminds me of something you'd find on cards in art stores or galleries or some sort of strange nick-nack place. Very nicely done, love your painterly technique. :D

DinoFlorist (Jul 17, 2004)
I started with the eyes on top and then I was going to make it an eagle, but then I got bored of that so I decided to make a man underneath wearing the eagle as a hat. I figured that had some sort of historical reference to Mayans, Inca, or Aztecs (but I don't know which), but then I decided I didn't feel like that either. So, I outfitted him with traditional Robin Hood attire, and gave him a caucasion complexion. Then for fun I added extra horns. Thats what makes it look like a hippogryph hat.

Great picture and I loved reading how it came about almost as much as the picture itself. :)
davincipoppalag (Jul 18, 2004)
This looks like an illustration from a novel about vikings. This is completely different in style than your others. I like this .
staci (Jul 18, 2004)
this is a great colorful rendition of a caucasian wearing a eagle hat..but is his spear tucked behind his ear?
thats amazing
DinoFlorist (Jul 18, 2004)
actually its going through his head, killing him instantly. I just have problems drawing things with any sort of perspective or logical relation.
