Not only does it make sense in theory, it works in practice too. Very nice!

Art Majors/Minors
Gigandas (Jun 14, 2005)
I think the title is pretty self-explanatory alone, but I'm curious, how many art major/minors do we have here (which one, specifically)? If it's your major, then what specific art field are you looking to get into? I'll start this off I guess... Currently I'm just a Fine Arts major, but I think at this point I'm headed for the entertainment arts field. More specifically put, video games/animation. Anyway, feel free to share yours, thanks :).

I think this is one of the most awesome drawings you've ever draw Lori. Making it sharper or spending more time on it could ruin it's dynamic qualities. It would be cool to see you spend 3-4 hours on a piece like this but hey, I rarely do that either so I should stfu.
featherstone (edited Jun 14, 2005)
I knew you'd like this one, Clox
thanks all
sincity (Jun 14, 2005)
This came out Great! :}
Gigandas (Jun 16, 2005)
What Cloxboy said, detailing and sharpening it up would kill what's already here. Not all pictures are meant to be viewed up close after all. Actually, it takes a good eye to be able to add just the right highlights and blotches of colors to make it look realistic from a distance (not to mention keeping proportion as well). I think it's impressive the way it is.

His eyes are gorgeous. I also really like the bleak colors. It really gives you a sense for what this guy is like, or at least what he's feeling at the moment. Very cool.
davincipoppalag (Jun 14, 2005)
I dont think I have ever seen a zep pic i didnt like..
Renuar (Jun 14, 2005)

No, he doesn't grow up to be a lawyer... he grows up to be a gynecological surgeon with a giant scalpel and no anaesthesia.
Alex-Cooper (Jun 13, 2005)
Hahaha. Too funny, DBA.
monoplyguy (Jun 13, 2005)
that would hurt to have surgery done by him
Xodiak (Jun 13, 2005)

i love the way you did the limbs. my favorite thing about this is the way you did the toes, though. i also like the non-background background. very nice!
Alex-Cooper (edited Jun 13, 2005)
I dig the feet. Say, Zep; would you happen to have any of your traditional artwork online? I really want to see what kind of work you can do when not infront of the computer.
*update: Wicked sweet, Zep. Memo me when you get your site down pat. Or just start a forum showing it off. I'm actually contemplating becoming a print maker myself. So I’m wicked interested in learning more about it.
zep (Jun 13, 2005)

How about this idea?
Memo: Marcello, I'll give you $20 to put this piece of crap in the showcase.
RE: Hmmm... It's gonna take at least $40 for that piece of crap.
Memo: $40? Damn... OK. Paypal?
RE: Paypal will be fine. I'll have it in the showcase tomorrow.
Memo: Cool! Thanks, man.
TheCrimsonKing (Jun 27, 2012)
Fuck, I knew I should have low balled him starting at $20.
Kloxboy (Jun 28, 2012)
I like Staci's idea, something more like Daily Deviations would be cool. The whole 'like and dislike button system' seems like it would be counterproductive because it allows people to judge anonymously and without explanation, making the showcase purely a popularity contest (opposed to a place to display the sites more skillful or innovative or interesting digital art). And yes, judging things like this would be subjective but could be relatively objective if there was some loose criteria to be met that we all agreed on (I mean, don't most prominent and respected award systems work in such a way?).
TheCrimsonKing (Nov 26, 2012)
Thinking about it now I think there are pretty solid reasons a lot of pieces were showcases like this one. There was a collective evolution of skill as 2draw developed from when I joined in 2004. There seemed to be a point where the bar was raised weekly for a few years and then we got to now where it has kind of gone stagnant. We are left to look at the current content as a whole and maybe a lot doesn't fit, but when it was showcased it was amazing, inspiring, or whatever at the time it as created.

Haha. I know exactly what you mean, sin. I've been doing shot's of disgusting Kentucky whiskey. Except I lost my shotglass and have been using an empty pill bottle for shots. Kind of ridiculous. No idea who James Brain or Joe Cartoon are.
sincity (Jun 10, 2005)
update. Use the link and go to all toons and search for james brain. I need alcohol delivery. UGH! :}
Ty854 (Jun 10, 2005)
Hahahaah! Reminds me of that commercial where all the mentally challenged people are running around playing baseball. And then they play that song in the background and the retards are sliding into home. "What have we done today, to make ya feeeel proud?"
