What do you look for when you look at a picture? Something that strikes your interest? Balance in the picture? Colors you prefer? Or overall appearance? What I generally look for in a picture is a expression; a certain feeling that the artist presents to the viewer. Weather it be gloomy, grand, sullen, serene, etc. I try and look and find what the artist tried to accomplish in the picture. Tell me your views.

For those who enjoy classical-style piano, I just wrote and recorded a new song this evening on my keyboard. Here's the link: Minuet in D Minor (mp3 download - 1.8mb) Be warned: it gets much louder in the middle of the song! This is an actual songwriting effort on my part; usually I just record improv piano. Took a bunch of tries to get a recording I liked. What do you think? Should I bother writing it down ...

Shut up. Smoking rocks. It's this drawing that is bad. Which is why no one has commented before me.Seriously now: You gotta’ work on the figure and the lighter. The cigarette and the flame are alright, but could also use some work. Now you're gonna’ get all offended because I insulted you're 25 minute drawing, aren't you? I don’t even care. Work harder on your drawings. Please the masses with worthwhile art. I don't mind criticism Alex, that is fine. Saying you could work on this work on that is very welcome. Its saying 'this bad' with out justification or in a overly opinioned way that will get a response from me. I am highly against your 'art to please the masses idea' imo that is a very wrong way of thinking about art. Artists like Vincent Van Gogh only sold a single painting in his life time and wasn't very respected, yet his art has stood the test of time.
