sharden (Oct 2, 2006)
A tat design that I am working on for my nephew. He's a Marine and wants a way to always remind him of what is important. Uhhh, just working on the form so far, hopefully the tat will appear later.

I think it's really interesting... I mean... It takes a moment to register that it's an eye...and then when you do you see the image in the eye... so you begin searching for what the image means... it's really an intriguing piece of art.

I agree with DBA, and I love your use of color and all the details. Very interesting!

The Silver Tree stands alone....
Gradually it turned from wood to stone.....
The stone they say turned to rust...
They wondered then, would it turn to dust?

One night I dreamed a dream.
I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

"Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I need You most, You leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."

^.~ i'm not that big on religion but this poem was always something that stood out to me and when i think of what heaven would be like this poem stands out in my head and well there it is i hope u enjoy

Kloxboy (edited Oct 1, 2006)
Contest Week 29: Make it Metal Your goal this week is to illustrate something that is ordinarily not made of metal and make it all look like it's made of metal. You can illustrate an object, a person, plants, animals, elements, whatever you want, as long as it's not already made of metal. You can use any type of metal you like: aluminium, copper, gold, iron, lead, silver, titanium, uranium, and zinc. Please do not copy other artists work and have fun. :) Additional Judging Crite...

i basically used a google reference. i looked up metal rose and looked at all the pics the only part i got was the petals because i couldn't quite get the right look which is why there's so many versions but i like the final look i hope it looks metal enough.

i love how you added a touch of blood to give it realy color.

Oh yeah be careful just make sure its not a rusty rose or else you will get lock jaw :/
fleeting_memory (Sep 12, 2006)
owie! painful foliage.
pyrobarbie (Sep 12, 2006)
but it was so shiny@.@ i couldn't resist .... good thing i've already gotten a tetnis(sp?) shot.... was it just me or does that one hurt more than most shots i think my arm hurt for a couple days ... but anyways i had a buttload of trouble with the hand and getting the shading just right (which i still am not sure on) i swear hands are the worst thing to draw i have a hard time getting them done right on paper let alone with a mouse

It's nice how the little man is part of the tree, and I like the soft colourful metallic glow of the background. Looks lovely, this!

Ruggi (Sep 16, 2006)
I think the metallic glow is very nice, especially how you managed to mix it with the bright yellow, green and red in there
Qwerty_Wittle_Fawah (Sep 16, 2006)
I love this...this is like what toucan sam would have in his house as a shrine to himself :D

the color is beautiful
Miss_DJ (Sep 26, 2006)
I'm very surprised this didn't place at all. It's very nice.
