This is the second piece I have done and it's not exactly how I would like to see it. Trying to use the tools but I get an edgy line instead of a straight line. Any suggestions?

try using the little fuzzy paint brush dots and vary the opacity and flow. By playing around with these you can soften the lines quite a bit :)
