I decided to draw sing lots of different layers, (8 to be excact) and began with a dark blue sky, then I made some lighter purple, and then light blue at the bottom, I added see through clouds and two black birds. I then drew the black houses at night with their lights on, and to finish it off, drew the air-raid warning lights!

I have to agree it's more detailed than your last few pics. However, I think you should consider putting numbers on the squares so people know which way to read it.

Apple from life. Wouldn't it be great if we could see more of this type of stuff on the beginners board?

EDIT: Crits are very welcome. I think tones on the bottom of the apple aren't dark enough and look flat.
