I remember when I bought you that looming kit that I found at a garage sale. I showed you how to make pot holders. You made wonderful pot holders for me, for Gramma and your Aunt. I smile thinking about you as a young boy grinning from ear to ear as you'd hand me one after another that you created with pride on that little loom. You're gonna be 21 in a week. I still use those pot holders. I'm still proud of you son..for all that you are and for all the happiness you bring to my heart. love, Mom

Oh Donna, I have my campers make those in the summer!! My niece sent me 3 for Christmas a few yrs ago she had made. What a sweet tribute to your son!! And cool job on the pot holder too! :)

Ah nice to see you doing a guy too Tiff. Good job on him! I cannot get over the color here. I do colored pencil real time and am a color addict..*L*..So jump in with both hands and jes start splashing color everywhere! You can always trash it if you don't like it, or. you can post it and everyone else will trash it *just kidding.,.gerbear hugs*

The body looks okay, but the face looks a little weird. The nose and the mouth should be aligned with the chin, and the neck should look like it is part of the head. The hand should be grabbing the kayblade on the other side, and the keyblade should be bigger.

A first attempt at painting clouds (actually a first attempt at trying to paint anything other than a figure). It reminds me of caramel. I used a reference very loosely: http://www.nesky.org/gallery/colorado_album/day3/hires/Sky.JPG. I just wanted to get an idea of what a sky looks like since it's been a while since I stepped out of the dungeon.

I wasn't confident enough to really go in there and paint with full blown contrast. Hopefully as I get more practice, I can do these a lot more quickly and with more variation in colors and values.

I tried to be fairly systematic with my approach so that I wouldn't lose myself in chaos. I worked from darks to lights with bigger, less opaque brushes for shadows and worked towards smaller, more opaque brushes for highlights. I didn't allow myself to go back to the previous steps for this one.

I want to focus primarily on drawing fantasy people and creatures, but I'd like to be able to sketch in some very basic backgrounds some day for these characters to reside in, so I'm starting off by practicing clouds.

They're incredibly hard for something that looks so easy, aren't they. I did 3 or 4 cloud pics today, myself, may they Rest In Peace.
