I started this last week (I think) when fin shared this technique. It was very fun and easy to draw. I finally was able to draw a normal looking person on this site. : ]

Thanks everyone! Sorry Thug, you caught me in one of those "not think clearly moments" SD: It only took me.. opps, I see it says that the duration is 3hrs 40min...well it really only took me less than an hour. And to Gigandas, what do you mean about the old fashioned way? I guess I'm still not thinking clearly, I am ready to go home from work right NOW! : ]
davincipoppalag (Nov 16, 2004)
Did you do that thing with the bottom slider on the left that thug was trying to 'splain to the thick headed old guy? lol This is cool.

Yes Davin that is what I did. : ]

I think old fashioned way would be drawing one dot at a time. Very cool use of Lascaux!

Gemmy and davinci, thanks for the advoice, much appreciated.

Marcello, double thanks, sent you a memo to make sure all I have to do is just draw more on it now. I think I ran out of space because for the majority of the draw I could not get undo to work. Then I worked the problem out (the undo buffer was not set to have any space in it).
gerbear (Apr 12, 2006)
From what I understand you actually store each "drawing movement" on your hard drive. The more space you allocate to saving what you "do", the more number of "undo's" you can have. That might be totally wrong, it was just what seemed logical to me.
marcello (Apr 12, 2006)
It's totally wrong. Yep.

Stay tuned for the next episode of "As the Wacom Pen Draws"

Oh, well not surprised it is totally wrong! *L* So what is right? I know you explain things well, I actually read the Lascaux Tutorial (I know, get a life Gerbear). So 'splain please!

Couple of things I wanted to try.

Firstly I wanted to try drawing something where I wasn't allowed to delete any of the lines (and I can see loads of errors from this), party so I can accept that things arn't perfect. Whle I also wanted to make myself less sketchy and think where I put my lines.

Secondly I wanted to try a rough past colouring where the detail is brought out with just a highlight on stuff.. Some places it works and some it doesn't.

I didn't have room for the feet (I never planned for them.. part of the "no deleting" rule left me stuck, so I left it at the thighs. I'd like feed bak on it in the context of what it was (a test peice to improve accuracy first time and making the most of mistakes I can't get rid of).

And last. I have trouble with the angle in everything I draw. So drawing an SD mecha with set scale in areas means I can get the scale with blocky parts inseadof organic. Hence an uber test peice.

Cool! I don't necessarily like how it came out, but it has that "I'm dangerous effect" or at least I think it does.

It looks very much like Marcus. I also love the texture you used...sort of harmonious yet contridictory to the original photograph.
