Desolate (Sep 19, 2005)
Well don't regret it because it is a rather refreshing piece from what you normally see. I like it and hope to be able to do something as good as this one day.
Caddris (Sep 20, 2005)
I really like the lips and chin.
DireOnion (Sep 20, 2005)
One day I might figure out how to draw proper ears or maybe even some hair. who knows!

This is for all of those who have been saying that there's been too much anime lately. ;P
The cross hacthing is really hard to do with a mouse. o__O Can someone tell me what using a tablet is like? I've heard so many different things about it ranging from they are the greatest things in the world to they're not any better than a mouse.

Oh yeah. Ref. "Drawing the Living Figure" by Joseph Sheppard.

Definately not anime... I wish I could do something like this my problem is I have neither mouse nor tablet and must resort to the stupid clumsy finger pad on my laptop... This is so good and I can't wait until its finished, but I am puzzled by how it can get better than this...
Seklyan (Sep 19, 2005)
oh completely excellent.
broken-lock14 (Sep 19, 2005)
*sigh* I wish I could create artistic things like this. Actually, I think a lot of people complain about anime not because they don't like the drawing style of a person, but because they often create completely non-artistic and unoriginal drawings, like hyper cartoon females with a title like "some girl" or "random". Good artists might draw something like this occasionally, but doing it to excess irritates some people. Though to tell you the truth, I find anime art to be an uber spiffy style. But that's probably because my drawing style is based off anime *shrivels into a ball terribleness* D= I feel like one of those non-artistic and unoriginal people now....

Oh, on a side note, I so want to try out a tablet (anything would be better than the mouse I have).
Caddris (Sep 19, 2005)
Heh, I draw anime-esque characters a lot too, so please, don't shrivel into a ball of terribleness. Anime is just a way of simplifying features and a lot of its appeal comes from the crisp lines and coloring. It takes skill to find the one perfect placement for the one perfect line. Sort of like Hemingway for artists. XD I would oppose with my whole being anyone who argues that anime is non-artistic.

Creepy.. I think not to many have much time..they dont do much looking to see what's new. Don't let it bother you.. draw for your own enjoyment.
darkshadow (Sep 12, 2005)
you said it davin.
most people are in school right now so they do their art and go
on the beginners board people look and comment a little more though
you will see when school is out for a break or for summer more people will comment
Zappo (Sep 18, 2005)
so you drew this for comments? and this should be in the beginner board
IkariIreuL (Sep 19, 2005)
No. But some comments amuse me, like yours.
If you are planning to become a mod ask cello not me.

Is it the shoes we walk in or the thickness of our skin...
I certainly do not know, but everyone's got a story.
I just moved to Columbus, Ohio...and so I start walking a new path.

My computer is having all sorts of issues...
Gave my brother an "art lesson"...and he was asking me all about acrylics, so I got distracted.

Not satisfied...but done enough.
Messed around for a while with the shadow being realistic and going up against the "wall", but I decided against it.
Timer is a little off, none the less its still not as skillful as it should be for the time spent...sigh...Learning.
davincipoppalag (Sep 18, 2005)
Lots of people in Columbus.. I would recommend shoes for walking around there.. I think this is pretty good.. maybe a bit darker darks and a few highlights to add some substance? ?Still pretty good
LisaAnne (Sep 19, 2005)
Thanks I appreciate it. I know I do need to fix alot on it...but I got bored and frustrated with it...particularily the left foot. Perhaps I'll come back to it later.

Started a research about it and it's very interesting...preserving a body by freezing and later reviving it (which can happen in near future). heh inspired me to draw this eventhough it didn't come out the way I wanted it.

....blah
Caddris (Sep 18, 2005)
Yeah. The human body has an expiration date though. After a certain amount of time in cryostasis there's no hope in bringing the person back to a normal functional state. The freezing process is hard on tissues. If the person is frozen too slowly ice crystals form and damage cell walls . . . sort of like freezer burn for organs. ^__^
Cool picture though. I like the green glass and the peaceful, sleeping look on his face.
Desolate (Sep 19, 2005)
yep... Caddris is right... After that whole freezing thing happens and you thaw out the body it turns to mush. There are only 2 things frozen in such a way at the moment. The maker of a company (Alcor Foundation) that does it for $120,000 has frozen the owner/founders brother and his dog... Check out Penn & Tellers Buller$#!+ on HBO or buy it on dvd to watch the episode called Death Inc. where this is mentioned... or not... Still a great pic, great use of color.
