DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jul 16, 2004)
The second day we were there the tide washed in huge blankets of brownish seaweed and pieces of driftwood that covered the shore. I fished most of the time and caught sharks and blue crabs... while fishing one day I had to ditch my pole and save a 5 yr old girl from drowning...her mother wasn't even down on the beach and no one was watching her. whew. Thought I would have 2 draw withdrawal while I was gone, but I had so much fun I didn't miss this at all. Going back in August. :)

wow, this is a pretty shore, love it so much :)
laurael (Jul 22, 2004)
Great picture here....gives me a feeling of being there.
Wow...you 'shark' fish too? You are one tough chickee....would not like to piss 'you' off...might end up hogtied and hell, used for 'shark' bait or target practice...either one's not sounding good.
Wait...you swam with dolphins?? I hate you. JK...heh heh.
I'm glad you had a good time and it was a good thing for that little girl that you were around.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jul 22, 2004)
lol laurael... the sharks we catch are just baby ones. (And they are totally delicious) You do have to swim out through kinda deep water to these sand bars where you can touch again, and they swim around really close to you. Every once in a while a larger one is spotted, but it's not scary. That is how the little girl (I just found out she was 7, not 5) almost drowned, she was trying to get out where we were.
gloworm043 (Jul 29, 2004)
Awesome picture as usual Cindy. Obviously, I've missed something while cruising around in 2draw. I knew you were going on vacation but I didn't know where. Sounds like you had a good time...:)

Winter doesn't really have a harvest so the snowman just kind of walks around in the snow and looks at things.

I really love this too.... great detail, so icy...
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 30, 2004)
Well, it did get better! The darker shading you did on the house in this edit give the picture so much more depth, and the icicles look so real I just want to pull one off and suck on it!! :D When it's 112 degrees in the shade here in August, I'll have to come back and look at this.
laurael (edited Aug 27, 2005)
Okay...shove my head in the snow for takin' so long to comment on this wonderfully done job! The shading on the nose and the blues rock, dino...

should have done this before, but just to make sure nobody thinks this is a terrorist or that i am a terrorist sympathizer...this should put the painting into perspective a little bit
this is a quote, an excerpt from an essay by insurgent subcomandante marcos of the Zapatistas released in 94

"The oldest of the old in the Indigenous communities say that there once was a man named Zapata who rose up with his people and sang out, "Land and Freedom!" These old campesinos say that Zapata didn't die, that he must return. These old campesinos also say that the wind and the rain and the sun tell the campesinos when to cultivate the land, when to plant and when to harvest. They say that hope is also planted and harvested. They also say that the wind and the rain and the sun are now saying something different: that with so much poverty, the time has come to harvest rebellion instead of death. That is what the old campesinos say. The powerful don't hear; they can't hear, they are deafened by the brutality that the Empire shouts in their ears. 'Zapata,' insists the wind, the wind from below, our wind."

the whole essay can be found at http://zapatistas.net/two-winds.html

Great piece. I watched the animation. You wiped out a background guy. The gun must have backfired.
Fin_beast (Jul 15, 2004)
This picture makes me feel very uneasy. It's scary how it makes you feel like you are being threatened.
I really like this picture and it's one picture that I think should have a place in the showcase.
I may try something like this, to try and get the same effect.
Ari (Jul 15, 2004)
Lovely picture... Wish I could draw that well...

Wow, very realistic drawing, the focus on the firearm makes it so great.
Oh and I saw the decapitation video on a website, without any censoring.

wow! ^_^
I love this!
The face is just so right!
And the boobs! I love the whiteness of it.
But....There is one bit that looks crappy....The index finger and swearing finger look deformed.
mikhail (Dec 27, 2003)
this looks great, a small suggestion i have is about the hands, they look awqward, and chubby... i would think that an angels hands would be very thin and fine. other then that this is excellent.
