Contest Week 70: Skyscapes closed for judging

Sweetcell has the flu so I'm doing the contest this time too. I was looking back on the past contests and saw we've done a landscape one a long while back, but skyscapes can be really nice too. The sky can be seen so many ways and is often full of the most vivid colors of nature. Depending on weather, time of day, and even where you are in the world the sky can be anything from strikingly sublime to quiet and tranquil. It's no wonder it's been the subject of many artworks for such a long time. Now it'll be the subject of a few more.

Although, instead of using an online reference, this would be a good contest to just look out a window and draw what you see.

The rules this time are:

-There can be other things in the image besides just sky, but at least 2/3 (two thirds) of the image must be sky.

-It can be any weather condition and any time of day, but it must be some time of DAY so that it's a skyscape and not a starscape. It's fine to include stars though, as long as it's a daytime image ranging from right before sunrise to right after sunset.

-Contest Week 70 will be open for entries for roughly 2 weeks starting from now until Saturday, February 3, at 11:59pm PST. That's the end of the day on Saturday for people in the US.

I have a question:
You say it has to be during the day, but is it all right if it's at sunset or sunrise?

sunset and sunrise are fine too. It could even be right before the sun rises or right after it sets when there's that glow around the horizon, just as long as there's some amount of light in the sky. *adds a little note on that rule*

just an update here-

So as you may or may not have noticed Oddica is no longer going to be a part of the contest board. We're currently thinking of alternatives for the prize system we've been using for the past while here. I may be asking certain people what they think of some ideas soon.

So what happened with Oddica, anyway? Tell us all the ugly details!

I never directly handled the matter of prizes myself, but apparently they have been very late at mailing some of the prizes. Something in the area of 4-5 months without receiving the prize in some cases. I really don't know anything more than that.

Axil: What Shanghai said is true. Oddica has been dropped from the contest board because they're too busy to get the prizes out in a timely manner. Keep in mind, this situation is not a reflection of Oddica's regular business practices, if you purchase a shirt from them, they'll ship it out to you right away. I feel if someone wins a t-shirt, they should get it within a month's time but it just wasn't possible for Oddica to keep up.

I am, however, making sure the last few winners get t-shirts, it may take a while but you'll get one.

In regards to future prizes, that's up to the 2Draw Team and the contest board mods.

what about that monkey site you had up, what happened to that? I say the winner gets a free 2draw book when it's done :) or, I still want my own lascaux applet cd :)
