One of my fantasies is to roam a deserted or forgotten beach. Maybe even riding a horse.

I'm trying to improve every time I attempt to paint something. The waves are not finished and there is no reference. Any suggestions that can help with the wave under the sun? I was trying to make it look like the sun could be seen through the wave. Thanks for any help you great artist can give.

I've put in a little more work on the main wave with a little help from my friends! Thanks!

Just about finished. Can't seem to get the blur tool to work to please me.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Dec 22, 2006)
I think the "poster edge" style is pretty neat, but if that's not what you had in mind, the blend tool would probably be more effective for you than the blur tool... it just kind of depends on the effect you are trying to achieve. Like Dave said, keep practicing.

Yea..the blur tool seems to be what to use until you start using it.. blend is way better for the effect in most cases..and the blur only sparingly. I think this is a really good effort.. I like what you have done with the waves very much! Nice!

Finished at last! What do you think people?
Axil62 (Dec 24, 2006)
What the hell? How is it that you can't draw to save your life and then suddenly you come up with rocks that...well, rock?
davincipoppalag (Dec 24, 2006)
I think it's one of the best seascapes we've seen..well done!
Cameo (Dec 24, 2006)
Wow! Thanks guys! I feel all warm and fuzzy inside after reading your comments! I consider your comments real praise considering it's coming from artists that I both admire and respect!

I agree, I think the rocks are the best part of this. Maybe you should try a desert scene... like Monument Valley or something. I did an oil painting of it once, it was one of my best, I thought... I gave it to one of my brothers. I thought about doing one here, but don't think I ever did. Do keep practicing, you'll only get better.

Rocks that rock, as always Dan hit it right. I just suggest you make the water farthest on the horizon closer to the water washing up on the shore, that sea green/blue, thin out some of those thin white trails, and whatever those grey things are in the distance, blur them (lightly) so they look farther. Makes me think of a post card from Florida. Pretty.
