See, the thing is that you're gonna have a hard time with backgrounds and colouring because you need to use layers.
If you're using 3 layers, heres how you would use them:
layer 3 - you're outline goes there
layer 2 - colour your picture there. everything just goes right under the outline
layer 1 - background
see? so on you're next picture try to do that. then it'll look even greater ^_^!
