Close up of a butterfly wing (if you reduce it, you can almost tell what it is :)
Chaos theory n.
1. The mathematical study of complex systems whose behaviour
is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small
alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences.
- Oxford English Dictionary, Ninth Edition
From which the meteorologist Lorenz derived "The Butterfly Effect" ...which basically holds the theory that the action of a single butterfly flapping it's wings can cause a tidal wave half way around the world

Actually, I didn't spend quite that much time on it... it was up while I got distracted with people bugging the hell out of me around here.

Its absolutely beautiful. I love it. I'm sure it took a lot of patience. Keep up the good work.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 13, 2004)
thanks... but really, it didn't take any patience at all. It was one of those drawings that felt more like therapy... sort of mindless jotting while I thought about other stuff. I do that sometimes... I'm really far away from what I'm working on alot of the time.
