The second day we were there the tide washed in huge blankets of brownish seaweed and pieces of driftwood that covered the shore. I fished most of the time and caught sharks and blue crabs... while fishing one day I had to ditch my pole and save a 5 yr old girl from drowning...her mother wasn't even down on the beach and no one was watching her. whew. Thought I would have 2 draw withdrawal while I was gone, but I had so much fun I didn't miss this at all. Going back in August. :)

Beautiful Cindy.. the water.. the sky.. the sand... all of it. Really great work and I'm glad you saved the lil girl from drownin! Happy you're back :)
emmamommalag (Jul 17, 2004)
Very pretty sky! Glad you were there at the shore at the right time for that little girl's sake.
davincipoppalag (Jul 17, 2004)
Wow...it's a good thing for that little girl that you were nearby. Ain't it amazing how a week by the water can refresh you? I can hear the pounding surf in this.. very nice.

hey, i used to live right near surfside.... we'd go there almost every weekend during the summer. that seaweed stuff smells awful!
this is very nice. you did an excelent job on the water (though in real life it is quite a bit more brown, you agree?)

I love this pic, DBA. Clouds are always of particular interest to me, and these seem better even than most of yours, which is saying something.

Glad to hear you had such a good time, but as I am a selfish creature I am even more glad that you are back. >:]

Thanks... and yep, it's a little browner most of the time, but sometimes it is this color and it was pretty blue-green for a couple of days that we were there. Forgot to say the dolphins were close to shore most of the time and I swam with them and my niece and I had one surface just about 6 feet away while we were shark fishing. (We swim to the third sand bar out where we can stand in about chest deep water to fish)

wow, this is a pretty shore, love it so much :)

Great picture here....gives me a feeling of being there.
Wow...you 'shark' fish too? You are one tough chickee....would not like to piss 'you' off...might end up hogtied and hell, used for 'shark' bait or target practice...either one's not sounding good.
Wait...you swam with dolphins?? I hate you. JK...heh heh.
I'm glad you had a good time and it was a good thing for that little girl that you were around.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jul 22, 2004)
lol laurael... the sharks we catch are just baby ones. (And they are totally delicious) You do have to swim out through kinda deep water to these sand bars where you can touch again, and they swim around really close to you. Every once in a while a larger one is spotted, but it's not scary. That is how the little girl (I just found out she was 7, not 5) almost drowned, she was trying to get out where we were.

Awesome picture as usual Cindy. Obviously, I've missed something while cruising around in 2draw. I knew you were going on vacation but I didn't know where. Sounds like you had a good time...:)
