This was inspired by children, and spring. I still love to blow bubbles. I used to think I had to only do it with my children, and then until my nieces came over, but now sometimes I blow bubbles just because I'm happy and I feel like it. I don't care if I look silly. (My golden retriever likes to chase them, anyway)

That was so much fun that I might just draw bubbles in every picture!! :D
LovelyLori (Apr 6, 2004)

DBA! I believe this is one of your best ever! Holy crap this is so REAL looking...I absolutely love this one.
The bubbles are unbelievable...damn...*saving...*
LovelyLori (Apr 6, 2004)
ya know.... your pics make REAL good desktop BGs... :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 6, 2004)
Lol.. that's what my daughter does with her favorite of the week. Puts it up as the screen saver. :)

fantastic, even the bg looks sort of bubbly, and the texture of the shirt is just perfect! this would make a great illustration in a children's book!
dixielandcutie (Apr 7, 2004)
hehe, dba, this is awesome. that face, just makes ya wanna giggle. one thing that's buggin me is the shirt...maybe looks too flat on top, dunno, and there's a line going under the chin on the shirt that's lighter, kinda makes the head look disconnected...just picky stuff, maybe i'm wrong. the hair and the face and bubbles are knockout. amazing work as usual!
davincipoppalag (Apr 7, 2004)
LOL! My old dog used to get crazed by bubbles too! She would jump all over trying to chase them down, and when they would burst on her nose she would get the cutest perplexed expression! lol this is great work!

I've been harping on sharpness... she's tired of listening to me... hee he ehee
strangeoid (Apr 7, 2004)
This is my favorite. ^_______^ I still love bubbles... it's great fun bringing them to high school and watching other folks' reactions. Teehee! Marvelous, marvelous representation of the bubbly-goodness.
fleeting_memory (Apr 7, 2004)
I really like this one-I'd have to say the Cupid one is still my favorite but this is seriously cool. His shirt bothers me a little bit and the bubble blower seems thick but I love his little face and how his mouth forms the 'o' the bubbles are crazy good and I love how you blurred the background to bring out the lil boy and his bubbles- *applauds* tt
Gigandas (Apr 7, 2004)
The bubbles, bg, the boy, all look freakin' great.I dunno if I like the shirt too much either as FM pointed out, but I had to really look at it carefully to even make any comment about that^^;.But everything else looks incredible.Nice depth, use of colors, skin tones.....there are too many things I can point out that are well drawn in this one^^;.This is awesome^^.
DinoFlorist (Apr 7, 2004)
Whoa, no this one is better. This one looks more real anyways. The whole thing works really well, but I think its the crisp figure in the foreground that make it stand out from the rest. The value implicates actual space, with depth in the right places. The bubbles have movements that are logical and make it look like you caught it in the moment. The whole thing...It's quite great.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 7, 2004)
Gee, thank ya! :) I didn't really like the shirt either, but I kept modifying and couldn't figure out what was buggy about it, but I was happy enough with the rest of the pic that I just let that go.
EverDream (Apr 8, 2004)
Good Dang DBA! Where do you get all that inspiration from? All your pieces are wonderful and I especially like this one alot. BUBBLES!!! *pops 'em* :D
Aubrey (Apr 13, 2004)
I agree about the depth, it makes it look all the more realistic and it's very hard to get a grasp on. You did it just fine :-D I love the bubbles too. My senior class back in high school was a bit off from the rest of the school. We all liked the stickers the english teacher put on the tests.. all liked ourselves just the way we were without being fake (in my opinion made us even better)... and a whole bunch of us liked BUBBLES lol. They actually made a rule we couldn't bring them into school anymore.. before that they never had a problem with people even bringing them TO school lol. Whoever came up with the Edible bubbles.. great idea.. twice the fun with twice the calories! *sigh* those were the days.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 13, 2004)
What a neat story, Aubrey! :) I always liked paper airplanes, and we could never do that... I substituted on and off for a few years when my kids were younger, and when I taught the little kids, like 3rd grade, I taught them to make these really cool paper airplanes and we flew them in class, and then took them out to the playground and flew them. (lol)

Hmmm does it count that when we were in high school we injected vodka into oranges and ate them in class? lol
