Contest Week 102: Real to the Imagined So this week Dr. Moony requested that we do a contest where everyone can really let their imaginations take flight, instead of references and such. Thanks all for your kind words. I'm entirely astonished that I placed in this contest, there were so many great entries. Lori, why would you be 'sorry' that Zep looks better than I imagine him to look? Besides loving Zep's work I wanted to draw a picture manifesting my mental image of a perceived personality--generous, kind, beneficent...one who would never go out of his way to say something mean-spirited to another artist. From the way he has always presented himself here, that's how I imagine him.

Gorgeous skin. I love how the bright colour of his shirt is reflected in the highlights on his skin. Nice expression, too.

Im going to a portrait painting course today and its been like over six months since i drew anything and almost 3 years since i painted anything with oils.. so i came back here to brush up on my skills :P

I was just going to comment on this when a wind storm knocked our power out. This reminds me of some work I used to love over at Doodlebug by Mertyperty. Do you remember her? Love that little green creature down in the corner. Very fanciful, whimsical and imaginative.
