STARZSHINE (Feb 24, 2008)
wow I thought I had lost this one, a glitch almost put this poor pooch into cyberspace...well I am finished at last after moments of not knowing whether the little guy was going to publish or not. I must say a hearty thank you to Marcello for getting the glitches worked out so I could finish. And I also need to thank Zan 61, a talented photographer from which this pic was done from. When I saw it, I knew I had to draw it, this is for you Zan61- from Diviant Art, I hope you like it! link: http://zan61.deviantart.com/art/Please-don-t-leave-me-75828520

Started first, finished second of the mother~child series. Little did I know starting out this serie the theme mother~child would become sooo important to me.

Inspired by the lovely poster I have hanging on my wall, don't know where to find it online (haven't looked to be honest), but all credits go to Misha and Makulu who are Rothchild's Giraffes, picture taken by Ron D'raine. The original is something I still find one of the best images of all time!

Not sure if I ever told this back then explicitly, but I started this 2 weeks before my mother passed away very suddenly and finished it a couple weeks afterwards. I was already drawing a lot, and actually drawing on this site when I was called away to her. And afterwards I found solace in this.
It was and still is my main hobby, my mother knew (obviously) and liked to draw herself as well.

I love green, green is Deino's favorite color :) My reference has very low quality, so I'm inventing some details so it looks better.
This is my last drawing of the year! x)

EDit: I'm realy proud of this drawing... :)
Edit2: Showcase :D Thanks!

Happy New Year to all of you! x)

Trying to draw a good thing. Does the public believe I can do it (not at all) but do I? (less than the public) Of course I do!

Shanghai (Dec 10, 2006)
I've been thinking about drawing a frosty mountain town for awhile, but the exact design I just made up as I went. I was thinking of various old games as I made it.

loosely named after Thule

I made Tahei with the idea of a country at the top of the world that's perpetually frozen. There's a Christmas themed mining town (it takes a lot of coal for all the bad kids out there), a glacier roaming with snow beasts, frozen waterfalls during the winter when it gets really cold, a hot springs for the small monkey population (based on a type of monkey in Japan that does go into hot spring waters), an icy moon that's closer than you'd think (it is the top of the world after all), and a castle on the mountain top. I haven't decided who lives in the castle, but it's not Santa Claus. I like real world references and influences, but I normally avoid directly using fictional/real life characters or places since it is my own fantasy world I'm making. Tahei as a country may only be made up of one town and a castle, but they never have to worry about being invaded because no army would want to bother with it. The monkeys here are like miniture yetis, and the snow beasts are their much larger cousins (think The Empire Strikes Back and that big snow monster that attacked Luke at the beginning).

maybe the castle will be a pathway to the moon. The owner of the castle should be based on Kaguya Hime from Japanese folklore (a princess who came from the moon). The pathway should open up during the full moon, and there should be a race of Lunarians there like in Final Fantasy 4 or in the Touhou game series (Imperishable Night was about Kaguya). There was also a villan based on Kaguya in one of the Inu Yasha movies.
