Looks kind of like Jerry Ryan to me...I think it is a beautiful picture.
I think the eye on the left is a different shape than the one on the right...thats why they look funny to me. The one looks all open and the other is sort of squishy...I can't really talk though I have trouble doing to eyes that match! Maybe mine are mismatched and thats why I have trouble...?
Pseudonymous (Feb 11, 2006)
Thanks :)
I dunno - I don't really see it that way...maybe I've just stared at it wayyy too long. It could also be because she's sort of turned to the side and so her eyes are a different shape? *shrug*
Axil62 (edited Feb 13, 2006)
She is slightly turned to one side and here's the deal. The eye that is closer (not much at all, but closer) is smaller than the one that's supposed to be further away. This confuses the senses and makes the drawing look "weird". It should be the other way around, closer bigger, further smaller. If you look at the whites of the eyes, you'll see that her left eye shows more white on one side of the iris than on the other while her right eye basically has an equal amount of white on both sides of the iris...which again is backwards, her right eye would be more likely to show less white at the outside corner and the left eye more like you have her right eye as far as the whites of the eyes go. Also the corner of her mouth (her left our right) extends a little too far. The colors and shading are very good though, excellent really. The skull is pretty much a cylinder with a rounded top. You need to bend the facial features around the curve of the cylinder instead of portraying them as being on a flat surface.
Pseudonymous (Feb 13, 2006)
Thanks, Axil! You really clarified the problem well for me. I can see it now. (I wish I could fix it, but oh well. Space constraints. :)

This guy seriously reminds me of Sting from back when I used to watch WCW pro wrestling. They've got like the same hair, similar face make up (even black & white like this guy), and kind of the same face (not really, though). This guy is rather skinny though. So I guess he sorta looks like a skinny version of Sting, hehe...
Just the way you drew this gives off this 'extra' eerieness (I dunno if anyone else gets this, but it does). Maybe it has to do with the man being 3-dimensional, placed on a 2-dimensional background. I hope you keep it that way when this is completed.
Pseudonymous (Feb 12, 2006)
I don't know who this is. It's scaring me. Go back to drawing big boobed women. O_O

(Just kidding, Rich. It's wonderful as usual. But really. It is scary.) *runs off with her teddy bear and blanky to snuggle with her parents*

I've been there, I was three years old when I went to see that lighthouse. Don't remember much, but I do remember posing infront of that sign for a family picture.

Nice one Poppa.

EEEEEEEEEEEEE I drew a bubble!!! It is really hard to draw something that is mostly nothing...
I used no reference, I did however spend about 20 minutes looking a different bubbles to get the basic idea down. Definately has room for improvement but I am proud of it. The timer is off but I did spend at least 30 minutes on it.

In all this. I was simply saying that Kraisa did a wonderful job drawing this from her memory reference and that I can't do it without looking at a physical reference. As Zack said, its all semantics, really, I was just making an observation and in no way did I intend to disparage this wonderful piece ((Kraisa))
SYTHE (Jan 20, 2006)
I'll just agree to disagree and say that I still love this peice. Sorry for being so anal.
Kraisa (Feb 9, 2006)
LOL I never came back to see what happened after my last comment on this. It seems I sparked quite a debate! I appreciate the kudos for my picture. I understand the different points of view.

I had never seen someone told that a picture was ref. when the atist mentioned that it wasn't I guess that is why I was insulted. That and I was feeling particularlly moody that day.(I can see how it was most likely merely a way to play on words and their meanings)

Really really no hard feelings held towards any of you! Though it was nice to see people talking without coming up with crap like "yeah well your mom!" Each comment seems to be a well thought out statement of opinions! It was actually refreshing.
Shoebox (edited Feb 9, 2006)
no kidding, that was one of the best debates I'e seen in picture comments in awhile.
Lovely picture Kraisa! The bubble is just perfect, very realistic lighting.
