Round brushes are very computer-y and don't always suit your style. Have you tried using shi-painter? Its textured brushes are gimmicky but the "water 2" tool might look better than lascaux's "blend" option.

who knows!
hideyourface (Oct 17, 2005)
yeah, sometimes the really round look of the brushes stick out too much in your pictures, but when it blends in nicely like on the nose, it looks a whole lot better. I like the quick sketchy style, but not too sketchy.

This must be one of the guys who tried out for the "Surgeon General's Warning" picture auditions. The ones where they show images of nasty teeth on the back of cigarette cases.

I have added two comments and both have been removed, not going to bother a third time.
I like it though, menacing grin.

Hi, lets make an exquisite corpse! This site explains how the game works. In this online version of the game, each player draws a 400x100 piece of the canvas and obscures it, leaving only a 10-pixel sliver for the next player to continue the image from.

-The first layer is the template for the exquisite corpse. You may make it invisible, but don't bother adding your name to it, I'll do it.
-The second layer is the one obscuring the other drawings. Here you must draw a black rectangle over your drawing, even if it's incomplete. Don't make it invisible, you'd ruin the game ;)
-Merge your layers once you're done to save space and avoid confusion.
-And don't look at or paint over the other players' layers!

This is a really good picture, it's simple, yet still so interesting and mysterious. Great job.
SneakyWalter (Sep 22, 2005)
Five interesting colors. Cool picture.

3 shades yellow,
black,
purple.

The chair seems like it's floating a tad.
DireOnion (Sep 22, 2005)
Yes, I thought that would be the proper way the light on the floor would reflect on the chair, but it just looks weird. I'll mess with it some more later.

Desolate (Sep 19, 2005)
Well don't regret it because it is a rather refreshing piece from what you normally see. I like it and hope to be able to do something as good as this one day.
Caddris (Sep 20, 2005)
I really like the lips and chin.
DireOnion (Sep 20, 2005)
One day I might figure out how to draw proper ears or maybe even some hair. who knows!

thats great! i love how it matches the board background. this is a very pretty pic. the half tones look great (by the way, what is the RBG slider code for the 2draw background?)

Simplistic, and yet, entirely enticing. You use tones extraordinarily well. I, myself, can't grasp them for the life of me. I'll say, well done.

The texture looks like linen! This looks like a tie-dyed piece of linen cloth.

A question of Quality
method3 (Apr 26, 2005)
Here is an interesting question that hasn't been discussed yet (I think). I don't personally think that 2draw has really taken in a large percentage of "professional" artists out there (and that's not a problem). But do you think that even so, 2draw can begin to achieve works of this quality as an example? Or this? Or this?...

Does making an image make someone an artist?
Shanghai (edited Apr 7, 2005)
I've known people that will say that the term "artist" should only be used for a "true artist" and that quality is a factor, and that it makes the word into something cheap when it's used to describe anybody who mades an image (the same way I can make a cabinet but that doesn't make me a carpenter). I've also known people on the other extreme that will say that art is anything someone makes, even if it were just a single line on a sheet of paper, and therefore anyone that makes images is an arti...
