If the undo button here were a big pink eraser, I'd be peeking out from underneath a huge pile of pink eraser dust.

:D

WOW!!! really excellent
enjoydotcom (Feb 24, 2007)
This one is sooo good, I can almost smell the eraser.
I do that looking for the undo button in pencil/pen on paper drawings too. But you know you're a real dumb butt if you're using a real pink eraser on your computer screen (hasn't happened to me yet).
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 1, 2007)
haaaaaaaHAH! I just saw this comment... it reminded me of that blonde joke about putting liquid paper on the computer screen. So far I haven't done either...so far... :)
Sweetcell (edited Mar 1, 2007)
I knew I forgot to commet on this. It's all just amazing, from the fingers and fingernails to th rubber (eraser) and little flecks on the rubber (eraser) the writing, and it even looks used. :) Your so amazing Cindy.

When I'm drawing I briefly look for that undo button as well, till I realise *doh* there is none and I feel incredibly stupid.

Enjoydotcom that's just freakin hilarious. God I hope I never get that twisted around.

Actually, people laugh at me a lot, but I don't think it's because I'm trying to be funny...they usually shake their heads right after they laugh. :D

OHHHH my..... I just noticed the * 'nother day * thing.... I thought I was the only one that said that. They tell me when I was little I used to stall going to sleep after getting a good night kiss by saying... "Now kiss my cheek,... now kiss my 'nother cheek..." haha... that is so funny that you used that here.
Anna (Feb 17, 2007)
haha Yeah! People always laugh at me when they hear me say that >.< It's a habit. lol @ "they usually shake their heads right after they laugh" I think I'm your mini-me Cindy O.o lol
Cameo (Feb 20, 2007)
I just now noticed this! *mouth gaps open* This is so awesome. Like all your stuff!

I wonder if you turn a surfboard upside down with the fins up if you could use it for a snowboard.

or...you could take your time and it'll be spring, anyway
Let's see, if the timer were correct on this thing, it would mean that I painted at an approximate speed of 1 HPM. (hair per minute) and 2 SPM (snoflakes per minute) :)

TOO cute, Cindy. Way too cute for words. Well done, too. That kind of combination can make your nose twitch and your feet tap and your brain heady like you had too much wine. :)

I've been doing the whitetail "game management" muzzleloading rifle hunt for the State at the park here, and one night I helped the State park police and rangers track one of the hunter's deer through hundreds of yards of tall, dead grass. I'm not sure why his didn't go down immediately, we're shooting civil war "cannons"... mine had an exit wound bigger than Dallas. Anyway... that was my inspiration for this, and I didn't need a reference because I've seen this so many times after bowhunting that the image is burned into my mind. I didn't quite get the effect I wanted with the flashlight...I usually flare mine where there's a circle of light and no center point of light, and it was kind of foggy that night. I played with it long enough to lose my patience... but it was fun experimenting.

Most of the time it's like spring here on Christmas day, but I don't mind because I love the Grinch. It's been freezing rain and all cold and sloshy and yucky for days... at least today it was big, fat, fluffy snowflakes, and it stayed on the ground. Usually when it snows here it melts when it hits. It's so rare that people will use it as a "year marker".... like "Was that the year it snowed?" :) I'm just not much of a cold weather person, I'm a beach bum. I've been going outside and wiggling my toes in the snow... it's fun, but it just doesn't have the same effect as warm sand.

Hello again
Your words they make me smile
As I drift away
In my little room upstairs

Oh I spend my nights
Imagining your face, your touch
Then I realize
How I don’t even know your name

If we could share our time
Would I disappoint your fantasies?
But I believe that I could be the one you’re needing
‘cause I’m

Only lonely on the inside
Didn’t mean to take away your dreams
I’m only lonely on the inside
When you close your eyes to your deepest thoughts

And I could start to give apologies
For all the stupid things that I will say
And I will do
If we should ever cross the same place at the same
Time
Would your world skip a beat ‘cause it was me?

If we could share our life
Would I disappoint your memories?
And I believe that you could be the one I’m needing
And I’m

Only lonely on the inside
Didn’t mean to take away your dreams
I’m only lonely on the inside
When you close your eyes to your deepest thoughts

If I could give back your hopes, your joys, your
Treasures
Don’t you think that I would change my world?
But there’s so many things trying to pull us
Together
And even though we’re far apart I can still watch
You walk away

Only lonely on the inside
Only lonely on the inside
When you close your eyes, what do you see?

Only lonely on the inside
Didn’t mean to take away your dreams
I’m only lonely on the inside
In your deepest thoughts, what do you see?

Only lonely on the inside
I didn’t mean, I didn’t mean, to steal your dreams
Away
I’m only lonely on the inside
When you close your eyes, in your deepest thoughts,
Do you see me?

Only lonely on the inside, I’m only lonely when
You’re gone
Only lonely on the inside, I see you babe, I see you
Only lonely on the inside, only lonely, only lonely
On the inside
I’m only lonely on the inside

Well I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert
Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt
Then I washed my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day

I'd smoked my mind the night before
With cigarettes and the songs I'd been pickin'
But I lit my first and watched a small kid
Playin' with a can that he was kicking
Then I walked across the street
And caught the Sunday smell of someone's fryin' chicken
And it took me back to somethin'
That I'd lost somewhere, somehow along the way.

On a Sunday morning sidewalk
I'm wishing Lord that I was stoned
'Cause there's something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone
And there's nothin' short of dyin'
That's half as lonesome as the sound
Of a sleepin' city sidewalk
And Sunday mornin' comin' down

In the park I saw a daddy
With a laughin' little girl who he was swingin'
And I stopped beside a Sunday school
And listened to the songs they were singin'
Then I headed down the street
And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'
And it echoed through the canyon
Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday

On a Sunday morning sidewalk
I'm wishing Lord that I was stoned
'Cause there's something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone
And there's nothin' short of dyin'
That's half as lonesome as the sound
Of a sleepin' city sidewalk
And Sunday mornin' comin' down

*content sigh* I love how evocative all your work is.
Childlike_Vampire (Dec 19, 2006)
This was one of my mothers favorite songs to play when I was growing up, as she struggled herself. This is exactly the type of scene I picture whenever I listen to it. Great tribute, DBA, I'm really enjoying this one.
fleeting_memory (Dec 20, 2006)
I dunno why (well aside from the fact that your art always rocks) but I really like this one.
Deino (Dec 26, 2006)
Beautiful atmosphere, it is kind of nostalgic. The shadows and highlights are so impressive...

Never impart it completely to anyone other than your horse or your dog. If you don't have either, you're screwed. Yeah, pretty much.

Nah if shesharpened it up a bit it would'nt look like an beautiful western-oil painting like it does,
"She looks as if she could ride a horse with out a sattle"
Miss_DJ (Dec 19, 2006)
beautiful piece Cindy!
lori (Dec 19, 2006)
this is really beautiful and peaceful, and I agree, wouldn't want life without my dog... and there are plenty of horses around here for me to enjoy, I wish you could visit, you'd like it here
Cameo (Dec 20, 2006)
Just beautiful!! Love the hair on the lady! Is this supposed to be you? I understand about the trust issue. Glad I've got my dog. His spirit is one that is always true and always trusted. Never lets me down. I wish I had a horse for I know it would be more of the same. Guess that's why I love animals so much.

Modest frame houses
Spaced neatly on little blocks
Castles to the proud men who struggled to buy them
The hum of distant mowers, the faint aroma of freshly cut grass
Not aware of registering those senses… the lull of childhood
The taste of koolaid, the tingling excitement of seeing the boy next door
The decadent rush of an innocent kiss
Musical laughter, glowing faces… bright and untarnished by time
Will you be my best friend? Forever?
The rat-tat-tat of a playing card in a bicycle spoke
I’ll race you… and if I win, I’ll stop and wait for you
Sun on my face
Un-harnessed energy, wind in my hair
Feet not touching the pedals
Downhill is a good thing, and there is no end
Hand in hand through a carpet of pine needles
Primitive forts built with small hands
Secrets of childhood sweethearts
Pacts sealed in blood
Will you be my best friend, forever?
The far-away muted sound of mothers calling
Into the twilight
Screen doors banging
The crackling sound of chicken frying
Chrome adorned formica tables and vinyl chairs
Warm kitchens, black and white televisions with rabbit ears
When Daddys always came home
Please, oh please, may my friend spend the night?
Bubble baths, pink bathroom tiles
Cool sheets that smell like sunshine
Attic fans singing a lullabye
Yellow chiffon curtains blowing in the moonlight
Whispers and giggles from room to room by siblings
They told us… “not another peep ”
So I whispered “Now I lay me down to sleep….”
And I did, with no sins to weigh my conscience down
Will you be my best friend, forever?

I think she might need some.

This is for solve. I'm not sure why you chose to ask me to do this, as I can think of several other artists here that would have been much better at this sort of thing, but I was very flattered that you did. I hope this is what you wanted and that you aren't disappointed. I had fun doing it.
