This may seem like the stupidest topic ever, but i really don't understand how to effectivly use the tools on this site :S. Does anyone know of a tutorial i could read or just want to breifly explain it or is it just to do with practice makes perfect?

I kinda taught myself how to use the tools on shipainter.
But there you can find tutorials here, although I'm not sure how much it'll help you learn how to use the tools.
Practice helps a lot, just play around with the tools until you feel comfortable with them, there's no right or wrong way to use them~ ^_^

Also remember that you don't have to submit whatever you draw. If you want, you can just start a new drawing and mess around testing out everything and then just not submit it when you're done. There's nothing for you to hurt, no materials to run out of, and no one even has to see it if you don't want us to. Just try out each tool one by one or, if you find one you like, you don't even have to know what everything else does if you don't want to.

As for Lascaux, if you look at the list above there's a wiki link for a tutorial, everything you need to know, plus some of the artists here have made some of their own including myself. Just ease into it and as they always say, practice, practice, practice. Welcome.
