Okay, I haven't been on here in like, just a couple months, and now suddenly the entire site looks incredibly different! D= What happened? I liked the old layout better.. ;___; Is there a way to get the old layout back? >___>; I can't find anything in this layout..

Nothing happened, you've just been gone so long you don't remember what it was like.

I kinda wish there was more templates like with the past layout. And I do miss the canvas preview which I really liked. :\

what can't you find?
  icon
MoonlitShadow (May 14, 2008)
It's just hard to get used to where everything got moved to.. I'm used to every link being in a certain place, and now everything has been shuffled around into a new spot and looks different. >>;

marcello (May 15, 2008)
can you be more specific on what links this has been a problem for?
  icon
MorbidBeauty (May 18, 2008)
Sorry, I'm just being a complainer who hates change, I don't mean to make you think there's problems, the problem is just me. =[ When things change on me, I'm just retarded and can't figure out what's what and where's what I'm looking for. >___>; I just gotta get used to it, is all.

marcello (May 19, 2008)
don't be so hard on yourself, I'm not asking because I think you're wrong, I'm asking because I'm curious in understanding how people react to changes like that (it's related to my research).

MorbidBeauty (May 19, 2008)
No really, I do just really really hate change. o.o; especially when you had the same layout since I joined, and now it looks like an entirely different site. >__> to me, it's just like.. when you play a video game and you're used to what all the controller's buttons do, but then now you get a new similar game, but what all the buttons do is entirely different, so you have to get used to something else now. <___<;; you know what I mean?

but yeah, one thing I miss is like, the picture's "stats," where it told you all the info on the picture like size, total time it took to draw it, ect.. unless I'm just blind and I'm not seeing it. >__>; that happens sometimes..
  icon
marcello (May 19, 2008)
well, the total time is displayed beneath the image, as well as the program it was drawn with.

we felt that the other things (file size, canvas size, and the various dates) were unimportant. We also took the philosophy of removing everything and just putting a few things to see what things people actually want. what bits that were removed do you find yourself missing, and why?

oh.. >___>;;; see, I'm so blind.. That's what's making it hard for me.

I do like that when you go to browse the boards, you can see 7 of the latest submissions from each board, instead of just 1 like before..
but the boards are all.. backwards, now.. the images are on the right and the comments are on the left.. It's probably just me, but it just feels so.. backwards.. x___x;;

Sorry I'm complaining so much, without much specifics to help you.. But I'm getting more used to the site, I can't think of anything else I miss from the old site layout, but if I find anything, I'll say it here. >__>;

by the way, just out of curiosity, who's "we"? <__<;

edit: Oh yeah, I forgot I was going to say that I like knowing the file size so I know if I went over the board's limit. o__o;

marcello (May 20, 2008)
we as in the 2draw.net team.

there is no board limit anymore, so the file size is a moot point.

but yea, I think what we probably should have done is provide a little tutorial or guide on switching to the new site. I think most people got used to it in a few days of using it, but it makes me wonder if anyone stopped using the site completely because of the switch.

a lot of the changes were also aimed at making the site easier for new users.

Oh cool, no more size limit? =D Awesome!

And yeah, it's probably easy to get used to, I'm just a little slow.. >__>; And blind. And change-hating..
And it does seem like there's less people now, less art being submitted and stuff. o__o; But I like it that way, smaller communities are better for getting to know everyone. n_n

I had the same thing Morbid, don't like change much either. But I have to say, after a while I'm pretty much used to it.
