Hi Everyone, I know this question has been asked so many times by everyone here who has experienced it, but yay for me, I just had my own share of frustration and not to mention, the almost sudden elevation of my blood pressure, but as the saying goes, if you no ask, you no get, right? So, I finally was able to make some real good hay the other night when I finally got around tracing my original on the second layer. So feeling good about myself for finally finishing the second layer, I just could not contained my excitement thinking that finally, I was going to colour it and layered it more But as Murphy's law would have it, I soon found out that what can go wrong will go wrong, and by the time I had opened up my eyes wider and came into the realization that I had actually did not complete detailing the second layer which only mean that the rest of the detailing was unfortunately spend and wasted on the original which is did. So without attracting some unwarranted sympathy and some backdoor jeers, I f#*ked up big time. Much to my chagrin, I am now at everyone's scolding and mercy and maybe, someone might be nice enough to inform me if I have any options here. I thought about just merging the original and the second layer, but then my concern is, it may compromise the whole drawing if the colours were finally applied. Also, am I going to lose points if I delete those roughs that I had saved, or will I lose points if I simply just delete the whole drawing and start from scratch? I will now stand into the corner and just wait for someone to talk to me.

First of all. don't sweat the points , they don't mean shit. I am not sure what you are talking about but if you havent merged the layers yet you can modify any of them by just clicking on them and you will only be affecting what is on that layer...best I can do..

Thanks davincipoppalaq. My problem is really not with the affected layer but it just so happened that I finished the drawing on the wrong layer. Okay, what happened was this: I did a fast sketch on the first layer which really becomes my original. So now, I've decided that I wanna put more detail on the original drawing which I really don't intend to except by way of making another layer. So, I added a second layer and started tracing the original sketch as my guideline and added details on that second layer. By now, with all the saved steps that I have been doing, I was able to put some light details on the drawing subject and was satisfied that I had completed half of the drawing. I went back the next day to revise and was more determined to complete the second layer. I was so happy once I realized that I've completed the drawing on the second layer but the mood went so sour once I realized that I had actually completed the other half of the drawing on the original soft and quickie sketch. I just want to find out if there's any quick fix to it if not, I wouldn't mind just starting from scratch. It's really funny how I was reading about this on the 2draw Wiki on layers and didn't think that I would actually make this mistake, but alas, I did and a big yay for me!

Well.. see how it looks merged.. you can always hit UNDO and unmerge.. maybe you can salvage it, or Clone the first layer..and erase all the parts you don't want to keep in and then merge?

Just add a new layer for a bg (bottom layer) and try to go over the sketch with the erasure. Trust me I've done that plenty of times. Always remember to see what layer your on by the blue highlight. And you may want to spend less time elaborating on the problem and just say what happened. I had to read what you wrote multiple times to understand what was wrong.
