Pileated Woodpecker....If ou live by these wonderful creatures, hopefully you do not have wooden siding. On a side note....when we lived on the lake we saw several of these wonderful birds. One morning there was something hitting the house below our bedroom of our second story home. After quite some time I finally got up to check out the commotion. There was the pileated looking at his reflection in the dining room window. He was protecting his territory by crashing into the window....little did he know he was dueling with himself!!
Oh thanks lori and davinci....I have a passion for birds. My house has quite a few around the joint, in the scheme of things as well as several bird feeders. I have seen one pileated since we moved back into the cities. Our back yard is all wooded so we tend to get quite a bit of wild life.
Thanks jpjp. this was my first attempt on the PaintBBS program. It only has two layers and I made the first layer all blurry and the second layer more clear. I think that is what makes it look that way.
You have a gift with birds. I have a great refernce pic from a deviant art friend also a fabulous pic of a hummingbird I thought of working through... you would do much better than I with the subject matter! Wonderful work QT!
I love the 3D effect - I haven't ventured into layers yet, maybe it's time to dip my toe in the water . . .
What a handsome fellow! do you think someone should tell him that his head is on fire . . . :-)
Thanks Aakyra and Xina!
Layers take a bit of getting used to but like everything else, once you have it you will want to use it all the time.....tee hee.
very nice Laura, this has just the right fade to the background so that your bird stands out. So glad you are getting the hang of the layers and how to use them, I know how you feel once you get used to them, you never want to go back! really nice work! three cheers from me!
