Now I know why they called him scrat. With all the 'scratching' to make his fur. :D

Omigawd! I love Scrat. <3
I can't wait to see it finished.
enjoydotcom (edited Sep 22, 2007)
Thanks, I love him too. That sound he makes is half his charm. Doubt he'd make a suitable pet tho, two cats rampaging in my living room is more than enough. Couldn't handle a squirrel running around as well.

The thought of a real saber toothed squirrel is hilarious. :D

Drawing is Looking good.

WOW ! worth the time invested in it i'll say.. ice age was at the same quality level.
lori (May 2, 2008)
that fur must've been a real pain but gOD did it come out well, great work Joyce
enjoydotcom (May 3, 2008)
Thanks Mikron, you're making me blush.
Well Lori, I've found out, I tend to stop after drawing for max 2 hrs, but on average I draw less than 1.5hrs per stage, so the fur didn't 'hurt' as much. After I gave up looking for shortcuts (textures) on how to draw the fur, it all came together.

Aww, this is so cute! It looks like it came straight from the movie :D
You did an incredible job on it, especially the face
nonvideor (May 4, 2008)
I absolutely love this. :]
Scrat is my favorite character from Ice Age, and you did a wonderful render of him. :D

It's really fun seeing the stages of the drawing. When I saw the initial sketch I didn't think it would end up looking like he did in the movie, but you got it spot on. xD

This is amazing! The detail is absolutely perfect! I applaud your patience... the effort is well worth the result! Well done!
enjoydotcom (May 9, 2008)
Thanks, I really had to stop my self to setting it to finished too soon, so that's why I worked body-part after body part. You can't let the little guy out with one foot missing :D.

Damn, see, I commented on this at DA but never did here.
Well I ditto everything I said there here. So ditto me Joyce. :D

Haha, I've done a backward search with Google Images, and I see my version of Scrat on at least other sites. How odd is that?!
the search results
davincipoppalag (Aug 19, 2011)
how do you do a backward search with google images?
enjoydotcom (edited Aug 19, 2011)
You click here http://images.google.com/ , then you past the URL of the image you want to check in the textbox with the camera in it and hit the blue button. Make sure the URL is of only the picture. On Google Chrome and probably also with other browser, you can right click on an image and select "copy link/url of image".
If your pictures are posted online, it usually (not always) finds it.
I have a picture on Deviantart of a Donkey which is very popular, and I found out that it was uploaded to quite a few sites. As well as some wallpapers I made, fortunately not by retarded art thieves like this idiot outed here: http://www.deviantart.com/#/d4737e3 but still it has proven it's use to me.
